I'm betting it's probably the stigma of SGU and its failure at the time. SG fans warmed up to SGU over time, but while it was running then it wasn't really doing so good. So with that, then it's not unusual to go a different direction. Problem is that Amazon is showing bias for diversity to a degree that almost rivals Disney, so when Brad Wright got excluded, then it might've made it so Amazon will go back to what it's already used to doing by now.

In addition, to your discussion around doing a movie for Stargate, putting it on Prime and setting that up for a series... I think that's the perfect way to go. That worked really well for Battlestar Galactica 2003 where the miniseries set up the show and that was, and still is, a hit. It could be a very good formula to go for.

If Stargate (SG-1, Atlantis, Universe) is making that much money year after year MGM is definitely going to do something with it. I'm just hoping it's a continuation of the franchise, keeping the continuity. That's what most fans want, that's the easiest thing to do, and what will probably make MGM the most money. I don't see how this is very difficult to figure out - unless the people in charge are letting their egos get involved and are trying to reinvent the wheel to further their own reputations. That would be stupid, but common in Hollywood.

Thank you for your dedication & updates through what has been nothing short of a miserable, seemingly endless 13-year hiatus for the SG fandom, cast & crew (I don’t count SGO as canon, sorry not sorry). This news sounds hopeful, but honestly I think many of us have become jaded & skeptical of anything tangible ever coming out of Amazon. My biggest worry still is that they’ll try to hijack most/all creative control from Brad, Rob, Joe, Paul, Carl, etc. What *I* have been wanting for 13 years is to have The Band back together - OUR showrunners & writers, who made the thing we love because without them, there is no Gate. Not as we know it, not as we want it. We don’t want to wait this long only to have our Stargate given the same horrendous treatment as we’ve seen with Disney Star Wars/Marvel, Amazon’s Lord of the Rings, and all the other “modern audience” placating failures we’ve had to choke down for over a decade. @Amazon just give creative control to Brad Wright, let him bring the rest of the original creative team & cast back (they’ve ALL stated they would come back in a heartbeat), and just simply give the fans what we want! Restore Stargate to its former glory - I just finished my 12th rewatch of SGU and it still gets better and impresses me a little bit more each time. So, make a small movie as in a made-for-TV movie (mini-series), that you can cut into 2-hour segments each and do 3 or 4 parts. filming them all with the actors you will put into the television series. Now you may have a movie coming out every week for a month (interest builds). Then after 6+ months, you could start TV production of the series where the made-for-TV movie ended.

Stargate has to come back at some point, hopefully as a true continuation of the events that happened after SG1, Atlantis and Universe. I fully expect a new cast and team will be center stage, but hopefully old characters from the past shows will return where possible and that fits in with the new show. Hopefully we'll find out what's happened to Atlantis, the Wraith, Travellers, Lucian Aliance, maybe any remaining Goauld, the odd intelligence that was present on Universe, Vanir and perhaps journey back to find out about The Furlings, what happened to The Tollan, bring back the Aschen as a big bad. There's so much that can be done with the story threads that remained from each show. Loads of exciting potential!

The biggest thing Amazon could do with the MGM IP is to get rid of Jennifer Salke. She is not a creative, as evidence by the abomination that is her baby, Rings Of Power. Her background is in marketing. I know something about marketing and I know there is little crossover between it and knowing what it takes to make an entertaining show. Add to that that she deliberately set out to trash making a faithful Tolkien show and instead make a feminist woke farrago that spits on the Tolkien legendarium does show she is an utter incompetent to be heading Amazon productions. The only thing that appears to drive her is to have the Guyladriel character to be a girl boss because Morffydd Clark resembles her; the ultimate in narcissism. Amazon MGM has the ingredients to make shows people would watch, but it's in the hands of people who want to push "no white comfort" instead. This is a money losing formula.

it's come back MANY times, but it creates a problem with the timeline so the Time Wardens are forced to go back and cut that thread from history and we are left in timelines without SG since SGU. Watching this was a 15-year-throwback jump into the youtube anal.s . back in 2009 when it was all 720p. with random people saying random stuff about random topics that someone, somewhere might eventually (and randomly) be interested in. I actually kind of like it? I don`t know, i`m not sure. Which is also interesting... Anyways, thanks for this awkward experience : )
