Welcome to Rare Disease Month! It's also Raynaud's Awareness Month which is perfect for our #SclerodermaSymptoms Challenge this week.
To participate in this challenge:
1) Throw on a button up shirt - don't do it up just yet!
2) Submerge your hands under ice water or running under cold water for as long as you can stand to.
3) Button up that shirt!
We implore you to put yourselves in the shoes of someone living with Scleroderma and experience just one of the many symptoms that they face - but in a much more mild manner.
Not sure what Raynaud's is?
Raynaud's occurs when the veins going towards fingertips/toes get smaller and narrow, making it difficult for proper blood circulation. It doesn't sound bad, but it's cold, painful, and can sometimes lead to gangrene - resulting in amputation.
