I was passing rough days at school, feeling lonely and isolated. Nerd, socially awkward, not part of the "cool" kids, you know the story. This song really really got me going through that rough stretch. I'm so glad it did. People wonder why this kind of nostalgia hurts and the truth is because back then, things *were* different. For some reason the weather seemed so much more vibrant and colourful in the early 80s/90s/2000s. Everyone was SO much more happier.. you don’t see songs with this much effort anymore, because the internet has taken over and so many people who haven’t put much effort into anything now become viral and majority of them end up making a career out of ‘singing’ . The last few years have felt very much like the early/mid 80s under Thatcher and Reagan for me.
