Scoliosis surgery: advances thanks to surgical planning and customized rods | Instituto Clavel

At Instituto Clavel we have a team specialized in the treatment of adolescent and adult scoliosis. This pathology, which is defined as a curvature in the spine, sometimes requires surgery. It is a complex intervention, so it is only indicated when the curvature exceeds 45-50 degrees and seriously affects the patient's quality of life.
The goal of the surgery is to correct the deformity of the spine and this is done by placing screws and customized rods. Due to the complexity of the operation, the surgical planning has become a key tool to guarantee the success of the surgery. Currently, Instituto Clavel is the only center in Spain where, thanks to this planning, we design the rods to measure for each of our patients.

yo tengo 48 años,empece muy de chico con escolisosis(12 años)(tipo joroba),y al no ser muy pronunciada tuvimos el fallos de dejarla pasar..ahora con 48 años ya tengo muchas veces dolores y mareos(ponerme en el suelo tumbado boca ariiba me es casi imposible),y esta mas avanzada.segun me dijo el traumatologo a mi edad los huesos ya estan solidos y es imposible corregirla,solo intentar evitar que avance.imagino es asi,no?
