Because the movie was rewritten to be a kids movie, now the movie is so inconsistent and doesn't know what it wants to be. They should try again with this idea as a Adult Swim series much like how Space Ghost became an adult brand on there.
@TheWanderer_993 жыл бұрын
The only reason there was an R rated cut, James Gunn said was because of a single joke the MPAA mis interpreted. There was also a kissing scene between Velma and Daphne. 😏

I think I know which one you are referring to, it was rather loud from what I remember like I could barely hear any of Scrappy's Scrappy Dialogs. In terms of OTHER NOTABLE CN Scoob Flash Games that I remember, was one where Scoob is sniffing around looking for the gang and the player has to click in order to foil this ghost man's many attempts in filling Scoobs Fear Meter (Meter fills up, Scoob runs away and you lose a life). There was also a Mystery Incorperated RPG game, not much I can remember (Way back in 2010-ish?) as it's just you doing the RPG Scoob themed tasks based on the incorporated series (Its not the tiny RPG characters that one would think though, they had fully detailed 2D models to move around) plus I hazily remember the surpisingly as detailed music in it. It wasn't just Scooby-Doo Flash Games I played I mean there were other WB Flash Games, there's this Daffy Duck one walking through platforms and if you stay idle for too long an anvil will fall on you (But even then), there's a Marvin the Martian one, Batman platforming to stop the Penguin... That's about it that I can remember for now I mean there's been far more obviously, it's been YEARS XD. I missed playing Flash, why did it have to go away?? There has to be a way to revisit these again! Does anyone else still recall the RUN game? Or that one flash game where you kill zombies plus some devils? I am now getting some melancholy remembering these damn it! xD

Alright, I'm gonna take a stab at this: The scene at the party where the gremlins break in? It's meant to clue Mystery Inc in on the fact that the whole thing is real. As far as the other side, the gremlins, and thus, Scrappy, know that Mystery Inc knows. That's the fight. The whole 'Is it real or a hoax?' angle, I think, is meant to marry the TV series' trope with the movies past Zombie Island, as the TV series was 'people pretending to be monsters' while the movies set up 'No, there's real magic out there' Scrappy theoretically wanted revenge for constantly getting added and subsequently kicked from the gang, over and over across the various TV series... Let's see, anything else? Oh, yeah, James Gunn wrote the screenplay.

The development of this movie is really interesting when you look into how it got made: James Gunn wanted to make a R-rated parody of Scooby-Doo, with an implied romance between Daphne and Velma, Scooby and Shaggy being stoners, and the Luna Ghost was the main villain of the film, which explains why he was featured so heavily in promotional stuff for the movie, like toys and the movie's poster, which was actually made for the R-rated version.

Yeah when Mr. Guardians of the Galaxy himself wrote the screenplay for this film he was going for an edgier take. But they had to tone it down later on (hmmm mary jane is shaggys favorite name, the smoke from the van early on, etc). Hell Velma was gonna be a lesbian also. Now, 28 year old me is sayin oh hell yeah make a studio budget version of this. But the then 9 year old me loved this movie we got regardless. First DVD we bought to use with my ps2. I was not a smart kid, the farting scene was my favorite for a long time. It may be bad, but it holds a special place in my heart. When I think about early 00's, I tend to think about this movie.

Apparently, the reason for the change in direction was that the edgier “Josie and The Pussycats” bombing in the box-office.

Sorry people, they got confused at the title, I think they were trying to say that the movie is a confusing masterpiece.

I love that Matthew Lillard was so perfect for the role of shaggy, that he went on to be the voice for him after the OG voice actor died Also, in the extended version of the airport scene, it's revealed that Velma wasn't working at NASA, she just goes to therapy and Fred did a speech about his book at an old folks home
