The musical term for this is "leitmotif", where a melody is used in multiple pieces of music to cohesively create an overall theme. I not only like the "Oh My Darling Clementine" and other old-time country melodies, but the callbacks to the music used in the opening cards of each episode.

@ZakWolf5 жыл бұрын
"My Darling Clementine" was in cues written for "Mine Your Own Business," due to the mine setting. The reason "I've Been Working on the Railroad" is heard in one of them is because that's the part when Shaggy pretends to be a train in the tunnel to scare the Miner.
@ritaandrunt57673 жыл бұрын
@@ZakWolf wow had no idea that I've been work on the railroad was used during the cue were shaggy was pretending to be a train

@@ZakWolf Yup, most of the cues are from the two episodes from the very start of the series, ''What A Night For A Knight'', and "Mine Your Own Business"... the composer Ted Nichols wrote ''custom'' scores for these early episodes, and they started to re-use the cues for later episodes, probably due to budget limitations... It's a shame there aren't more cues released for us... Let's hope they still exist in the first place.
@ZakWolf2 жыл бұрын
@@DZShark That was standard practice for Hanna-Barbera. The show also recycled a bunch of "dramatic" music cues Ted Nichols wrote for "The New Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" and "The Banana Splits Adventure Hour."
@DZShark2 жыл бұрын
@@ZakWolf Yes, the episode ''Hassle In The Castle'' is especially heavy on the Huckleberry Finn cues. So essentially, we would also need the cues from the Finn and Banana Splits shows, to have the complete Scooby Doo musical collection. Hopefully someday someone will release those. Oh and of course, cues from ''Jonny Quest (1964) are also used heavily. Fortunately, those are available.
