I'm new to making the scoopable waxes and I saw someone used refined coconut oil so since I could get it at the store I got some. But my question is do you know of any candle calculators because I've seen so many different formulars on here I'm hesitant to start. Product isn't cheap and I'm unsure being my first time. Would fractionated work better? I saw somewhere the formulator was 70% wax to 30% oil, but I've seen so many other variations. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the video, what is the wax to oil ratio? Also can you use any oil to make these ie vegetable oil, canola oil

Great video! Yes, 76 degree coconut oil is a whole different animal than fractionated coconut oil. I use both in my crafted skin care business. They both do totally different things. Fractionated coconut oil would be my first choice for scoopable wax melts. I think organic coconut oil (76 defree coconut oil) would be to hard! I enjoyed watching this. I like watching others, but am to chicken to start my own KZbin channel, lol! Jill Gross

Thank you. Yeah, that first batch I made with the 76 degree coconut oil, was super hard and definitely not scoopable. I know what you mean about starting a KZbin channel. I still cringe at my first few where I was in the entire video. Thanks for watching!

Hello, what is the coconut apricot cream? A fragrance?

Mica powder sinks because it's heavier

Hello, I was wondering if you could use soy wax instead of the wax you used, if it had the same consistency of it
@downeastcandleco Жыл бұрын
I believe you could. I think the important thing is the addition of the liquid oil to get the softer consistency for scooping.

Soy is what you should use. Definitely not paraffin.

Thank you! Does it matter if its fractionated or liquid coconut cooking oil?
@downeastcandleco2 жыл бұрын
While I used fractionated coconut oil, I don't believe it matters if you use the coconut cooking oil, it's basically to make the wax melt softer for scooping. Thanks for watching!

I tried using coconut oil but my wax is hard. Maybe is it because I used parrafin wax
@marikiemarie7622 Жыл бұрын
Yes. You can use paraffin. Bees wax and paraffin are the only 2 waxes you can use for scoopables.

@@marikiemarie7622 I tried paraffin wax so should I use fractionated coconut oil ? Oh soy wax is too hard ? I tried paraffin wax and I mixed with coconut oil it turned out still as a hard rock. Yes mines felt like it was a candle the first time I used to regular coconut oil

@@starlovesyouu what kind of coconut oil did you use? It had to be fractionated coconut oil or vegetable oil.

@@marikiemarie7622 I used the one in that jar that had to melt down into a liquid for the coconut oil with paraffin wax and the vegetable oil I tried a different time it was the one for cooking with soy wax

@Rogeana Star 🌟 💞 yea..so you can't use the coconut oil that starts off hard. The kind you need is in the massage oil or lotion section in stores. Hobby lobby carries it as well. It's much more expensive then vegetable oil so use vegetable oil . 2 cups oil. 1 cup wax.

Do you know if it is safe to burn this candle?
@downeastcandleco2 жыл бұрын
These are like wax melts where you scoop out some of the wax and put it in a wax warmer. No wicks in these. Thanks for watching!
