Instead of making just melts you can make your wax scoop-able this is a fun sellable idea for your customers! You will need:  16 oz Good quality soy wax  12 oz Coconut oil refined or unrefined  4 oz of Fragrance oil  Glass or Tin container  Presto Kettle to melt wax  Wooden or plastic spoon for scooping out wax  Metal pour/mixing pot  Scale for weighing out wax and fragrance oil  Colorant if desired Directions 1. Melt wax to 175 2. Place pour pot on scale and turn scale on 3. Ladle wax into pour pot weigh out 16oz 4. Add 12 oz coconut oil 5. Add Fragrance oil and colorant if desired This recipe will make 8 - 4oz containers. Use raffia to tie spoon around jar

Measurements in Cups 16oz = 2 Cups Ecosoya CB135 Soy Wax known as Q220 now. 12oz = 1 1/2 Cups Vegetable Oil or Sweet Almond, Olive Oil, Castor (I used Sweet Almond Oil) 4oz = 1/2 Cup Fragrance Oil

Please don't do this. This comment is incorrect as the recipe is in weight not fluid ounces. For example, coconut oil has a density if 0.92 which means 8 fluid ounces, or 1 cup, actually weighs 7.36 ounces. And fragance oils are all very different in weight vs volume as well. Since the fragrance oil needs to be added as a percentage of the wax and base oils you will not be able to determine an accurate amount to add to your finish product.

Diane Woronick depends on your wax, I’ve had wax that takes more then 6-24hrs to set and the wax I use now sets with in an hour. So that’s a huge factor in how long it takes to set, I get impatient sometimes and stick them in the freezer haha 😂

Why so much fragrance oil? Standard for soy wax is 1 ounce per pound.

Not only considering the wax but also the coconut oil added. This recipe has been a great one for scent throw, you can try less fragrance oil if you want.

@@SoyCandleSupplies Even with the Coconut Oil included, the Fragrance Oil totaled to 14.2%. Way too much Fragrance Oil. Even if it's only for Wax Melts/Scoopable Wax.

You can use any coconut oil, I prefer buying the fractionated coconut oil itself and I use coconut wax for these also

Hi Jasmine! We haven't used it before, but Palm Oil might work well, as it has a similar consistency and melt point. We always recommend testing. :) Hopefully that helps - Jess.

Marissa Calcione Yes, that is the correct amount. Since using Coconut oil which has a low melt point it does take awhile to set up so you may need a cooler enviorment for it to set up.

There are many different types/temperatures of coconut oil. Did you use 76 or 92 deg? If you used 92 did you melt it first?

Hi...I really liked your video it was very informative...That being said i have a question, I have been told over & over again from different candle/tart maker's tht you must only use 1 to 1.5oz's of fragrance in a recipe (i am always using 2 or more ounces per pound of wax) Why is it tht you use 4oz's?? & another question, can coconut oil weaken the fragrance in wax or is it a myth & why would ppl say tht coconut oil weaken's fragrance in the 1st place...I see tht you are a professional at candle/tart making this is why i am asking, Thank You please respond back...

Glad you enjoyed the video. I How much fragrance to add depends on your wax, how much fragrance it can handle. Certain waxes can hold more of a fragrance load than others so use according to the manufacturer also Some fragrances you can add more some less, you must test to see what works best for you.

+Blanco Noir Not sure where you heard from that coconut oil weakens the fragrance. I always heard that coconut oil strengthens the fragrance oil in Soy Wax.

My experience is that for candle wax the limit is 1oz fragrance oil to 1 pound of wax because that is usually the max that the wax can hold before it will bleed or not incorporate well. This recipe includes coconut oil that is not a wax and can hold more fragrance....
