I saw one other lakeside chase, I forget where. It's usually not a fast deflation unless you punch a hole in an alloy wheel, which is what happened in the other video. Basically deflated immediately.

Too bad this was police weakness and incompetence from start to finish. He should never have been allowed to crash into and almost kill another driver after many opportunities to PIT and then never allowed to drive away after the accident. This is an example of how to fail as a cop -- fail to protect the public and to enforce laws with authority. Cop is lucky he wasn't fired on the spot.

That cop has horrible aim, should have been about four feet higher. This guy was willing to do anything to escape and already caused a major accident. He's a legit danger to everyone at that point and willing to do more. He needed to be stopped right there. The fact that he was able to drive away after that accident is a major fail, even though they caught him shortly afterwards.

I do nor understand why cops shoot the tires when that won't stop the vehicle. Shooting the radiator will stop it in just one to two minutes as seen on a recent video where the perp shot the troopers radiator and within a minute the troopers car was disabled.

I'm pretty sure they are. Most of the damage was to the front quarter panel driver side. It's not a head on collision. Energy is dissipated as the car spins. T bones are the most dangerous types of crashes. Less crumple zones that front end crashes and drivers side t bones are the worst.

Trooper had many opportunities to PIT. Perhaps if he had done so, this could have been avoided. Looks like FHP policy prevents trooper from pitting at 100mph and above unlike ASP and GSP.

Bad exit by the first officer. No cover whatsoever. He would of been shot if that guy wanted to duel. Go behind your car. Take cover on the passenger side and order him out. No one was even there for him to return fire. I pray he realizes his mistake with a gun being found. Something also told me there was a gun in this vehicle.

I doubt that's proper police procedure, but probably effective. The possibility of stray bullets/shrapnel hitting innocent citizens is when it becomes problematic.

I back the Blue, but this went on for so long, I had commercial breaks. @FHP please call @ASP because this perp could and SHOULD have been stopped LONG before he went BACK to a residential area. There were MINUTES that flew by where he could have been pitted and no innocent drivers would have been harmed. Blowing through numerous red lights with traffic could have been prevented and the vehicle that got NAILED would still be on their way. Then, THEN, you actually let him drive off? This may be a retirement State, but not behind the wheel of a police car. PLEASE - either retrain or remove. Aggressive driving is what Arkansas State Police do best. Call them please. For the safety of both civilians and officers.

Half of this was caused by poor policy. The Trooper did his job , And well. The PIT needs to at the troopers discretion. If the driver dies in a crash, that on him or her. Policy and the driver is what got other public injured. And what's with having to a firm that the lights and siren are on? Was there not enough training on when and how to turn on the lights and siren? This Troopers ability to juggle politics and do his job is outstanding. Not to rub his supervisor the wrong way, I'm sure he is just as frustrated.
