Thats a acceleration pump ur pressing on. its much easyer to give it about 3/4 times full trottle without the engine running. it does exacly the same as what you did with your screwdriver.

Not always. Depends on state of the spring which is sliding on the butterfly valve roller. Sometimes it is pretty weak...

Is it true that pulling back the Throttle without the engine running delivers some gas to the car braider, which makes it fire up a lot easier.​@@grazz7865

Several people below say that the problem is with the electric choke. I don't think that this is the case here. When the electric choke is "cold" then the "idle enrichment circuit" is open and lets more fuel into the carb . The wires going into the choke are for a small heating device. As the choke warms up the idle enrichment circuit gets closed. As others have observed, the silver circle that joshcb7 presses on is the accelerator pump. Each time that silver disc is pushed down it pumps a tiny bit of fuel into the system . Since the bike starts after depressing the pump , I suspect that the idle jet is too small and/or the idle mixture is too lean.

Hey buddy I figured I'd see if you could help me..I have a grom clone with a 50cc gy6engine..I had it running last week but now it won't start.it sat al winter.i got it running for a day..out gas in it now it won't start.i got a new plug and looked in the carb and it's beautiful.but I wasn't sure if a jet could be closed.it has a thousand miles and had been very reliable untill now after sitting..I'm jst pissed cause it started right up and ran for a day but now it won't.only thing I can think of is some particle clogged a jet..I'm new to working on my own shit so I could use some help.sory to bother you I figured it won't hurt to ask

The choke is adjustable. I had the same problem then I set the choke leaner and now starts much better.

You might just have a tight valve. Does it have trouble getting up to speed? It doesn't cost much to fix it.

Damnn i have a zip 70cc 2 stroke and my scooter is exactly the same doesnt want to start cold Have to kick it like 20 times when is starts ones its starts right up the whole day so bc of this vid i think my choke js not ok or my valve is 2 tight Helped me on that one!!👌💯

Electrical tape is not good to splice wire you should fix it by removing the tape n cleaning the wires slip shrink tube ( 1/8 , or 3/16 diameter, so it will fits over blue butt connector) on one side n using blue butt connector is 16-14 gauge wire diameter, they make them w shrink tubing on the ends too, but w a reg butt connector push each bare wire end into the butt connector crimp the butt so the wire is locked in then slip the shrink tube n heat it up till the tube shrunk down n seals the but n tight fit over the wire. Now the splice is weather proofed. electrical tape will eventually leak water n throw the voltage Totally off, n the electrical choke is not being activated. Live n learn. Hope this gives you n viewers insight in the proper way to Seal electrical wire splicing.

How come my Ignition Was changed. No. That it is. Changed, we can't get her to fly her up. We had to fix spark once we got her spark back. After changing this Ignition, we had to do a valve adjustment after the valve adjustment. I never tried turning it on yet. I pray that it's going to work. I just don't know why it started messing up after changing the Ignition. Switch itself.

Acceleration pump. It will squirt a huge amount of fuel into the carb.

Oh and if I ever do get another tots out 50cc scooter I will get one with the 12 in wheels on it cuz they are much quicker and faster as Cruisers than the 10 inch tires.

cartoon ch I had the same problem, don’t know if you have fixed it yet but it turned out that the wires connecting to the spark plug assembly were corroded on mins so I just wiggled mine around to see if it would spark again and it did, hopefully you figured it out by now tho.

Spray one quick blast of quick start. If it starts right up, then dies, your problem is fuel. Start working form the tank up to the intake.

Since this is a toa toa I just wanted to remind everyone that there is one calibration for the speedometer and odometer cluster and that is for the 12 inch wheels since that is what they run commonly in China so with the 12 inch wheels on like his bike has his speedometer and odometer are accurate but with the 10 inch wheels it is not very accurate 105 kilometers an hour equals 50 miles per hour or 52 1/2 kilometers per hour on your Speedo equals 25 miles an hour or taking to account for speedometer error you can just take your cloners per hour divided by 2 and that is actually your miles per hour and 50 miles per hour on the speedo is actually 37 with a 10 inch tire versus the 12 inch tire wear 50 miles an hour on the speedo is realistically about 48 miles an hour cuz of the speedometer error and accuracy in Reading high that is programmed into all vehicles worldwide standard.

It isn’t hard to come up with that if you know how a carburetor works. That type has an accelerator pump. You don’t actually need a screwdriver. You can just open and close the throttle a few times beginning starting.

You can't leave a scooter sitting for a month. Not without fuel stabilizer. Gasoline goes bad. Clean the carburetor and fuel system.
