This song is meant to mix some older music with more modern. They really play off each other, making both a bitter-sweet dynamic, that really mingles well. Scooter is one of my favorite artists, but they really made this piece sweet, adding Matia Bazar's classic voice so much more haunting than it would normally be, thanks to the way techno has remixed. The contrast between her voice and male vocalist is strikingly different, also adding to the contrasts.

Too bad it literally has a small dynamic range, it's way too overcompressed. At least to my taste. A relic of the loudness wars. (r.i.p. 90's - 2010's masters, no wonder people prefered the vinyl versions/masters of songs from that era :) ) Like, compare it with a classic like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHjEeH9tg8-HodU that jumps (no pun intented :) ) into your face when the chorus kicks in. Now, that's dynamic imho. Many songs from this era would sound way better if the dynamics were preserved. More interaction between soft & louder sounds, instead of trying to be continuously loud.
