Scooters can be made to go very fast. Sportsbikes should be faster as thats what they are designed to do. 2 guys on r6s will have the same machine but different abilities as riders, likewise scooters. A scooter has a different purpose than a sportbike, like a truck has a different purpose than a car. Its not all about speed and power. Its about what it can do and where it can go. If your bike can go 130mph theres nothing stopping me buying one thats faster. Wheres the skill in that? Scooters are great at what they do and any biker who thinks otherwise needs to wise up. Its not a competition . Every video on you tube featuring scooters v bikes has comments saying 'the R6 will destroy the scooter' blah blah blah..... it Fucking SHOULD do. It should destroy other bikes too. Its designed for it. The point is ,dont underestimate the scooter or its Rider. It may BITE back and scare you

In my country, there is a road class where the sports bike and a scooter is almost at the same level, i live in a southeast asia country, so 150cc scooter and 150cc light sports bike are very common on the road, but as you know the 150cc sports bike of course has more power than a 150cc scooter, i have similar story like in this video but it is me 150cc scooter vs 150cc sports bike and i'm 100kg.. the sports bike rider is mich thinner, but i overtook him in a corner too, almost just like you till i scratch my lower deck and center stand..

I'm in the Philippines and I ride a Kawaski Dominar 400 cc, but I want a scooter next and I think Kymco is affordable and the quality is there. I know Kymco makes the engines for the BMW scooters and was partners with Honda for many years. So this bodes well.

I felt the same way when I was on the road to Eureka Springs a few years back. I was cruising at about 75mph on I-44 westbound. Sport bikes were passing me until I got a wild hair and decided no more. I brought the Silverwing up to about 90mph. It was stupid, and I wasted more gas than I needed to. I had to stop for gas just before an enforcement zone. When I got back on the freeway, I saw a multiple cops with a sport bikes as his customer. I was more than willing to behave myself from than on. If you feel you have to prove yourself, sign up for track days. The freeway isn't the place for track speeds.

It's a very common reaction from motorcyclists to assume such superiority. You see it all the time on the road too, when motorcyclists won't deign to lower themselves to nod acknowledgement to a fellow biker if they are riding a 50, 125, or a scooter. It's irrational. Just because another bikers machine may lack the cornering speed potential, or power & top speed of yours, doesn't mean that the rider themselves don't possess your skill & ability, or lacks your commitment to two wheels. If you own a Goldwing, & only use it a couple of months during the summer, even for foreign travel, - or if you are a sports bike rider, who only blats around at weekends only in dry weather, (however quick you might be) - then you are a far less committed biker than someone who owns a 50cc, but uses it every day for work & leisure in all weathers, & for country & city riding. I sold my Hayabusa to get an Enfield bullet fitted with a 8.5 bhp diesel engine, which has a cruising speed of 40 mph. That was 10 years ago. I still have the Enfield & I still haven't regretted the decision for a second. I get more acknowledgement from other bikers, car drivers, children, women, & old people than with any other bike I ever owned. Not being a challenge to anyone in performance (even against 125's) doesn't make me feel inferior even slightly.

I enjoy riding my scooter (t max dx) but I always hear about crashes and how unsafe bieks are.. I don't dare push the t max past the limit. I never plan on crashing and not doing any messing about to cause a crash will greatly reduce the odds. I ride the bike with one mentality. It can kill me or seriously injury me. No fucking about.

Motorcycle with small tire radius is usually not suited for high speed cornering but you really did a good job 👏👏👏👍👍👍

A wider tires helps in cornering, regardless of the tire radius. If anything, a smaller radius tire helps in agility even more than a standard 17 inches tire. Also, that's why we're at 17 inches; the gyroscopic effect of an old 21 inches tire of the past would hinder how fast you can countersteer, and the pretty low 14 inches tire that would scrape your foot pegs. 14 inches would fare well in cornering with wide tires. With proper length forks, a sportbike with 14 inch tire would corner well, the forks may gave out earlier

Mario Di Carlo man I raised all bikes with my scooter. The only bike that gives my scooter a problem is a liter bike. I know exactly what most of those motorcycles are capable of. 600s are fooling people. If you want to go fast get a liter bike. 1000 and over. I raised Harley streetglides. 750s , 1000s I also owned a Kawasaki ninja 1000, Honda goldwing f6b, r6, f6b And 4 scooters including burgman exec. And bmw650gt . Nothing will compare to the scooter especially if you swap the variator.

My father is Yamaha official importer for Croatia more than 20 years. I am driveing motors all my life. Right now I own tracer 900, r6, t-max 530 (2016). I also drive it on race track Grobnik in Croatia every few months. T max is king of scooters there is no better scooter you can compare with it. But it can never compare it with motorcycle especially motorcycle like r6. This guy on video is amater, it seems this is his first ride. And that guy on kymco is also amater. Only difirence betvene theese two guys is that the scooter is easier to drive when you are amater.

Experienced rider myself, years ago i couldnt keep up with a guy riding a 125 scooter on a very technical mountain road. I was with a cbf500, 5 times more powerful than the 11hp of the scooter. Is it because i couldnt ride? No, it was because i wasn't familiar with the road, there was dirt and rocks spread on the street due to landslides and so on. Self preservation and knowing when is smart to ride slower is not bad, allows you to survive to another ride.

He is obviously either incapable of going faster for some reason or just doesn't want to. Perhaps the speed limit you both destroy is one possible reason. Like 110-120 in 50 zone and than 140-160 in 90 zone. You are asking for trouble. I also ride a maxi scooter, but I try to do it safely.

WTF, I thought, then realized he was just being honest, young healthy guys buy these machines, and it only takes a stone, the size of a pool ball in the road at high speed, and it's goodnight Vienna, game over.
