While he does some bad things there and there, this is firstly a cartoon, which means everything is exaggerated, therefore while his actions are still bad, they're not as bad as they would be if he committed them in a more logical world- and he probably wouldn't even do them in a world that makes more sense. Gumball really is just a big selfish jerk, but he isn't even close to being "evil".
