Delta 55 set faster than I thought. I couldn't move it into exact position and had to pull off and start again. Delta 55 and 77 have held it firm though.

Also clean the screws and holes with some degreaser and a pipecleaner. Put some Loctite between rail and rifle for better hold and to prevent rust. Remove exessive Loctite with some degreaser soaked papertowel.

This may be a job for a gun smith or engineer. You can buy blank sections of picatinny rail which work well for custom fitting jobs. But the measurements of the holes drilled and countersinking need to be exact as the accuracy of the scope is only as good as the mounts.

Picatinny slots are approximately 5.2mm wide. Weaver slots are approximately 4.6mm. So if you have a picatinny rail, then both weaver rings and picatinny rings will fit on to the rail. When tightening the rings to the rail, we'd always suggest pushing the front ring forward while tightening, and the rear ring backwards. This avoids any movement of the mounts under recoil.

hello sir im from India...i have 12 guage shotgun Single barell ...i wna fit a rail on my barell head above chamber ,but the problem is that barell dont have any srews holes so how can i fit rail for scope any other method i mean like to weld rail or use adhesive or something

Hi, thanks for contacting us. Unfortunately there are limited options for attaching a rail to a shotgun rib without modification. We don't have anything which would be suitable, but there are options out there. A common solution is a clamping system which clamps onto the rib rather than drilling the rib for screws. But these clamping mounts do tend to be for Red Dot Sights rather than full scopes.

@@alanrhonemedia Actully thats my grandfather ancestrl shotgun 32 inch barell 70mm ... i modied it with flashlight ,coldblueing and wooden pu polish sling and much much ... i stuck in this scope issue bcse dont have screws for that .i go hog hunts with this using slugs .... but i wna scope .... let me see any gunsmith who help me ...i knoe abt red dots with mount .... if u have any sugeestn for that (scope) kindly infom me ..thanks dude

Hi Samuel, that quick release mount is one of Contessa's quick release for picatinny rail range. There are a number of different mounts including a ring mount, ATN X-Sight II mount, ATN 4K mount, Zeiss Rail, Swarovski Rail, S&B Rail and of course the one you've seen is the rear extended picatinny rail. I believe you have also emailed in so we've provided order/delivery information on our reply.

Unfortunately, neither of the scope mount suppliers produce a rail for the Tikka M558. They only make them for the T3, which has different hole spacing. A possible option would be to use a blank section of picatinny to cut to size, drill holes and countersink to suit. A lot of precision is needed, but it is just the screw holes drill and not the radius cut because the Tikka action is flat. I hope this is useful to you.

From our own experience, our Recknagel Picatinny Rails are very reliable without a single complaint since we've been supplying them. They come in either high grade aluminium or steel, with 0 or 20 MOA options. We supply the UK, with Recknagel also having dealers across Europe and the US, they've got a large supply network, so you shouldn't have too much trouble getting hold of one.

What do you do when your scope rings (bottom half) don't level with your gun being level. I've tried multiple rings. Ruger precision rim fire (30 moa rail) vortex copperhead scope, tried Leopold & Warne rings. It's not off by much but I've never had this issue before. Do I just make sure the gun & scope are level? Any advice would be appreciated

Neither of our scope mount manufacturers produce a rail for the Henry. There must be something out there though. Or possibly an engineer can produce something using a blank section of picatinny rail. Recknagel do supply lengths of blank rail for such instances for custom jobs.
