34:30 You can also remove the green visor. That makes the battroid looks just like in the maintaince scene that appears in Macross Plus for a split second.

Just got this in the mail a few days ago. Sure enough, when I opened it, the head laser was broken. Nothing a little superglue can't handle, but still. Just one of those things that you kinda wish you didn't have to do.

Hi there, I've figured out why the blue square "flap" piece that sits behind the neck/head does not sit flush or fully connect or latch onto the peg. If you lift that piece up, you will probably notice the end of that cockpit window (deep underneath) just needs a very small extra "tuck" back under the "backpack" structure. Use a little gentle force to push it back more and you should hear it pop into place. Then you will be able to close and nicely lock that blue square securely down. I saw you had mentioned this issue in your other transformation video and, I discovered the resolve last night on mine. Love your videos! Thanks for sharing!

Could you please update or make a new video analyzing the 1/60 ARCADIA YF-19 Premium Finish version please? A comparison between the 1/60 ARCADIA YF-19 Premium Finish version and the BANDAI DX YF-19 would be great appreciated. I think that now the 1/60 ARCADIA YF-19 Premium Finish version is superior than the BANDAI DX YF-19 version. Thank You !!!

Awesome review! I found on my YF-19 that as long as I use the barrel joint, it is possible to mount the gun to the arm cannon in the central position and it won't touch the ground when the fighter is resting on its landing gear. (This is with the super packs installed, so the legs are in the slightly lower position - I'm not sure if the gun would still have clearance in the clean fighter mode).

As someone who spent a pretty penny on the VF-19 advance (lets face, it we all did); Do i need to go out and buy the Bandai YF-19 or are they basically the same aside from a reskin? Macross Plus is one of my favourite series but I think i can live with the SMS decals.

It really just comes down to how valuable you think the knee swivel is, how likely you are to use the extra weapons, and how much the painted on detail is going to bother you.

@@ScorchedEarthToys None of those things really bother me! I'm just more emotionally attached to the YF-19 as that's what I grew up watching! Thanks for the response, I think I'll just live with knowing there's an actual YF-19 out there :) Happy to hear its pretty much the same mould though!

I regret missing out on the Arcadia YF-19, but I just picked up the Bandai YF-19 to make up for the missed opportunity and display alongside my old Yamato 1/60 and 1/72 versions.

Super nice review! Please help me to decide,, I really love the SMS version but the lacks of swivel joints for spreading legs more for gerwalk mode really turn me down... From your opinion,, is the swivel joints worth the upgrade? For the records,, I don't care about the other differences

I got mine yesterday via an Amazon retailer (u$s400). Head laser was fine and I have the issue with Battroid mode and that cover in the back was popping out. The solution is to first lock that cover and then close the chest down until it clicks and it never pops out again.

Another deco difference to point out between Bandai's VF-19 and YF-19 is thay they un-swapped the red and black on those smaller stabilizers on the front (or bottom, depending on mode) of the legs on the YF-19. That always bothered me like hell on the Advance. Thank you for pointing out the articulation difference in the legs, btw. An excellent review as always, and I'm looking forward to adding this to my collection of beige Valkyries.

Everytime I see the movie I hate Bandai for so little details left of. They put the arm cannon that appears for 2 seconds. They make the armor in the head and the visor removable just like in the split second you see them when they are doing maintenance to the battroid. They change the canopy to the two opposite sided open just like in the OVA/Movie, but they left behind both of the one seated cabin and the shield post Isamu's ejection of Newmann. And the removable magazine for the gun and the hability to holster magazine and gun behind the shield was a nice touch on the Arcadia. You where so close, Bandai. So damn close.

If anyone comes up with alternative way to clipping the vertical stabilizers. I was thinking there might be a way to change that pressure hinge with a normal hinge. The person that comes of with a fix you could sell it in a kit and probably make a little extra income

Go to amazon, look up for the toy, then go to user reviews. One of the reviewers shared a tutorial and pictures on how to fix them. Is in japanese but the in site translator works kind of ok.

The SDF-1 should be fair game and Bandai teased a DYRL version but it was gargantuan and unlikely to ever be made... it shows its on their radar though. They may make a VF-0 as part of the Hi-Metal line but a DX seems very unlikely as long as Arcadia is supporting that license (and it's likely the only reason Arcadia is supporting that license is because Bandai has told BigWest they had no imminent intentions of making 1/60 scale toys for that license).

I just got mine today. This thing has soooo much detail! Definitely worth the $320 I paid for mine! The only decal that is missing is Isamu’s full name just below the canopy...I know it’s petty but they had payed attention to so much detail I’m just surprised they overlooked that.

Experimental VF's doesn't have pilots name on them, so actually is more accurate the lack of it, just like in the OVA's/Movie.

Mariano Martinez that may be true were it a real fighter, but this kit has virtually the exact decals the Hasegawa model kit and the Hidetaka Valkeries drawings have, including the pilot’s name. To pay that much attention to detail but leave that off is just, weird.

@@ronskfc just saying that is more accurate to the original OVAs version the lack of the name. I more pissed off about the lack of the one pilot cabin option that we actually see in the OVAs. The Yamato/Arcadia have the option to remove Newmann's seat and put a cover in it's place. But that and the removable magazines are the only advantage of the Yamato. Bandai's model are superior in almost all other aspects. Also, just to name one more detail, it's a boomer they didn't correct the wide of the shield in the full set pack version to eliminate the gaps in fighter mode.

It's now a 'previous generation' toy so the likelihood of reissue is nearly nil. It sold out instantly upon release and is now only available sporadically on the secondary market for a huge mark-up (as you have discovered).

Unfortunately like you I missed most of the DX Chogokin releases as I was stuck on the original Macross series and only recently started collecting the other series. I find I can shop ebay and actually search for Mecha and not spend unreasonable amounts. I guess unreasonable just depends on your pocket...

30:15 tells you how tall and how heavy the toy is. I often get people saying "Show it next to a Voyager-class Transformer" or "Show it next to MP-10 Optimus" or "Show it next to a can of soda" so the best compromise I've found is telling people how tall it is and then they can pull out a tape measure and go from there.
