Wow, he sounds uncannily like his dad -- that gorgeous, rich, buttery smooth baritone.

My goodness what a great voice Hoyt has passed on to Matt, I’ve been a fan of Hoyt since the 80’s, saw him live in concert too, great singer /songwriter. So pleased to see this 👏👏❤

thanks for this. bought the Greenback Dollar LP and played it to death in collge in the 60s, but heard Della and Dealer only last year, thanks to YT. And now Matthew's group. Some very good things about the 21st c.

I really enjoyed this concert Al, and thank you for putting it up online. I created and have hosted the Hoyt Axton Discography website, since prior to Hoyt's passing, but I was unaware of this tribute concert until one of Hoyt's fans, Julie Rose Palmer, recently advised me of it. I've added a link to the video on my my website, which I hope will please some of Hoyt's old fans. My history with Hoyt's music goes back to 1964 when I was in college and one of my roommate's girlfriend bought him one of Hoyt's earliest albums, Thunder and Lightnin'. Hoyt's music became a passion for me and later for my wife Elna as well. Our first son's middle name is Axton, and I went to high school with Janalee Eberly, one of Hoyt's long time backup singers. I still host the discography website, and many of Hoyt's old fans are still writing and asking questions. I also especially enjoyed the rehearsal video you added to KZbin, since it includes all of Hoyt's family and friends. Thank you again for sharing. Ray Kawal

Hoyt Axton was GREAT! i have the 45 of Joy to the World hanging on my wall. i interviewed him once and he told me his proudest moment was hearing a kid sing the song.

Great Tribute to Hoyt. I think Matt is great but I wish he would have acknowledged Jana Lee Eberly and Hank Bario. They were always there with Hoyt for EVER. and ALWYS great.

Glad you enjoyed. FYI, Hank and Jana Lee are both introduced at the end along with the rest of the band and they also appear in the interviews video.
