Scoring Beautiful Waves - West Side - Maui Hawaii Raw and Unfiltered

Four Days Windsurfing one of the most beautiful and sketchy wave sailing spots on the island. This spot is very challenging due to the super shallow reef and the gusty off shore winds which are typical for this break. This POV video was filmed on the West Coast of Maui, Hawai`i.

How is Maui typically for a two week windsurfing trip in mid March, coming from Vancouver? Your videos make it so enticing. Wind would be #1 priority for me and wave sail lessons if the conditions were right.

March has huge variability...you might get wind every day and you might get skunked for the whole month (unless you're capable of float-n-ride). March (or October) offers a good chance of some significant wind + waves (there is room to avoid the surf even during a swell). Biggest swells (for north shore) are typically Nov-Feb and most consistent wind is May-Aug.

@AP_alias Thanks, yes i have had my share of injuries (including a broken foot) and incidents with the wildlife in the water... thankfully not the most extreme case of being bitten. But I have been in the water sailing next to a surfer that got chomped at Ho'okipa.
