I LOVE THIS. they should've done this at 1997 worlds beam final

I agree, it was later confirmed that the scoring was a mistake, but the medals have already been handed out so they can no longer change it. I think Kyiv also went last, so the booing wouldn’t have caused a disruption regardless for the judges to reconsider their decision

Kathy’s floor routine was beautiful, I wish the dance elements, musicality, and artistry were still present.

I remember watching this live as an American of course I wanted the Americans to win gold and everything but not if it meant someone getting legitimate screw, and name off, got screwed hard on that score, but was one of the best displays of sportsmanship for name of knowing you got screwed to come out and quiet the crowd to let the show on because he didn’t want to screw the other athletes out of a chance to compete

I remember watching this & the Hamms where not worth their bacon that year... Nemov deserved better.

And Nemov still didn't get a medal. What a disgrace.

It’s amazing how times have changed. A double twist dismount is considered high endurance, and now it’s almost worth nothing

The equipment has clearly changed as well!!

Yes, and that's why we see huge skills, but then again, there are also now thousands of cheerleaders who can do double fulls on mats like this. @@worldartgym

Tbh this booing would feel great for any artist, that the crowd wants the score to be changed. He finished 5th, but in many hearts he won.

A lot of people complain about the new scoring system. Every time I point to Nemov being f’ed out of a medal because of how screwed up the old system was. And yes, I was booing so loudly at home the neighbors complained.

wow, would be nice if scores changed from an extended period of jeers these days. can there even BE an inquiry on anything other than d score these days?
@poshbo Жыл бұрын
no, only the D score can be inquired, you cannot inquire or challenge the E score

9.80 to Nadia's 1978 AA routine was a joke. Well the judges dropped it down to 9.60 in the floor final. The worst of Nadia ever

If Paul Hamm and his coach had any sportsmanship whatsoever, they would have petitioned for Niemov to receive a better score before competing next. Instead, the look on paul hamm's face looks like he's the one put out. Gymnasts stick up tor each other in these cases, so unfair judging won't happen again. But since its an evil Russian, who cares , right America? USA! USA! USA!

That was a huge step by Nemov. I would have given a 9.70. He got a 9.725
