As someone looking to get into BFS, would you recommend the Scorpion BFS as a good choice for a first BFS reel? I was eyeing the 22 Aldebaran, but I’m not sure I want to spend the money on top of waiting for it to restock. I got the Scorpion DC and Zodias because of your video and I love the combo. Lol. Definitely open to suggestions.

Great video! I believe you have a scorpion 100 dc, right? can you compare them? And how sturdy the bfs is? I`m afraid I will damage it pretty fast. I want to use something like a 10 lb braid. Where did you found a good deal on these scorpions? thanks

Wilson Miranda the Scorpion BFS and Scorpion DC are made for completely different types of fishing. The BFS is basically a Curado 70 with the shallow spool and brakes made for finesse fishing. So it will be sturdy. 10lb braid should be fine, but I wouldnt go much higher. Check out my QA vid for where to buy from Japan

You forgot to mention bearing size. Correct me if I'm wrong but the bearings on the scorpion bfs appears smaller compared to the scorpion 70.

Hector Ramirez the bearings are the same size in both reels. 3x10x4

Can you tell me what exact crank it was you were throwing at around three minutes? I'll soon get a Scorpion BFS myself and would like to look up the lure for an exact weight :) Plus I might aswell buy one or two, will fish for trout a lot with the reel.

are you talking about the old Metanium DC? that might be an inferior DC system vs the Intelligent DC5 of the new scorpion. Tackle tour has reviews of both reels

THE REEL TEST its the old metanium from 2007 but it also has long distance casting mode and wind mode. I'll look at the reviews.

When casting light lures, let our about twice the line you normally would with heavier baits... makes it much easier to cast

Ik you like jdm shimanos so if u go to japantackle.com u can find a shimano stile wich is basicly an upgraded alderberin for $240 and i got mine in the mail monday and it is an absoulute steal

Tatula sv spool is to heavy to throw light lures it can throw 1/8 ounces easily but not anything lower than that. I don’t own a tatula sv but I do own the 16 zillion sv tws.
