no matter how many series of Dynasty Warriors they are going to make, the characters,the storyline and the history itself will never change. They can make Dynasty Warrios 9,10,11,12,13,14. but for me DW 5 will always be the best.

@@hi-resmusic1id266 nope, DW6 was nowhere near DW5. Yes, the graphics was better but the gameplay mechanic is just awful. DW5 was the best game of the whole franchise. I agreed on the second part, DW8 was a improvement over DW7, especially weapon changing. There were literally no point changing weapon in DW7 at all, it's a good concept but poorly executed, in DW8 they added "elements" into weapons to at least give us a reason to switch between the twos.

This was by far my favourite dynasty warriors the music always gets me amped up for war and the story mode of each character was awesome and yes I spent hours on end playing this game awesome game and it brings back so much memories!

The thing that i used to look forward to the most growing up with the DW series, was seeing which new characters were added. Playing dynasty warriors 2, and moving to 3, seeing how many more characters there were to unlock and play. Then 4 and so on but then they started getting silly by turning a good battle simulator into a 1 man army hack'n'slash.

His 4th weapon stats in DW5 are OP as hell but with the XL version,players can power up the stats of any weapon to 20,since Lu Bu's 4th weapon has 20 stats all over except for health and musou which has 19 could be upgraded and then Lu Bu has a 4th weapon with ONLY 20 stats.

I don't dislike the movesets of DW7 & 8 but I really would have preferred they gone back to the DW2-5 movesets for the characters instead of creating whole new movesets that were inspired by DW6's ridiculous, new style. The old movesets put some limitations on how much total range, power, and speed a character could have and so you would need to fight intelligently if you didn't want to get ROFLstomped by the CPU on harder modes. Nowadays, all of the characters have at least one or two massive, powerful attacks that can just be spammed in succession and make the game a cakewalk. I remember when Zhang Jiao was generally considered a bad character because the only part of his moveset that was great was his musou attack but in the latest games, the entirety of Zhang Jiao's moveset can be as useful as Lu Bu's. Like I said, I don't hate the newer movesets but I prefer the older combat system that made things more interesting rather than breezing through the game like in the modern games.

Combos are no longer original in the newer versions. The series got killed at 6 onward. 5 & 4 were my favorites. Each character had their own original moveset and it just made it fun. IMO all they had to do to improve the franchise was just add more unique combos per character that could only be performed by them. Like I said, characters lost originality. It's boring when there are 30 characters with the same moveset. :(
