Too bad we didn't listen and learn. I remember most of those news images splashing across my TV. I remember, vividly, the newscasts of teh wall coming down. In my 60 years walking this planet, it was the only time I held out hope for us; that got shattered some time ago. There are events and points in time that define an entire generation. For my grandfathers is was the end of tWW1 and WW2. For my generation is was the end of the cold war and the fall of Berlin wall. For those generations that younger than I, I hope you get to see a the end of the current conflicts that plague our world, and get your defining moment and that it is one of peace.

This was mainly written to address the fall of the Sovjet Union which in turn also led to the reunification of Germany and an overall political change in Europe. As a german band, obviously a topic that was extremly relevant for them. You can see thowards the end, the fall of the Berlin wall.

more scorpions??? well, "rock me like a hurrican", "send me an angel", "still loving your", "the zoo", you might know some of them, not knowing where you did hear. Scorpions were one of the most known rock bands of Germany, well, I think at this time..... 1980 to 2000, one of the most famous bands in the world

The very first time I heard this was while watching a Filipino cover band in Singapore. I had been at sea so didn't get to hear it before that. They killed it (including the whistle) LOVE the Scorpions. I rock with them, but this my favorite song from them. 10/03/2017 Grand Sierra Resort Reno 😎😎

This is from a peace concert in the former USSR. 1989 it think. It’s also has some scenes from when the Berlin Wall Fell.

Hello i'm a little bit late for this reaction but i will answer some of the video things that you just saw. Potsdammer platz how it changed to the fall of the wall in 1990 east and west germany together as one great germany, the pope shaked the hand of former russia president Mikael Gorbatsjov who was for change in the former USSR Glasnost and perestroika more open in Russia the end of the cold war more peace on earth. Sad to see how this in todays world this is so changed at the moment. Many current events of the time. The Cold War was ending. The Berlin Wall came down- that I will never forget. We truly felt the world was becoming a better place. Scorpions are a German band and have always been very popular.

React to Pantera Domination Moscow, Metallica Enter Sandman Moscow. It`s was the first huge rock/metal concert on the other side of the wall dividing East and West Europa. 0.8 to 1.6 mill crowed. The story say they stopped counting so no one know for sure how many were at the free concert. AC/DC and The Black Crows also played. 4 bands Monsters of Rock festival tur. Was only free in Moscow.

This was the end of the cold war, there now is hot again. And fall of the Berlin war, there divided East and West Europa. More or less the war there is in Ukraine now. WWII 2.0, some say WWIII but WWII newer really ended fully.

This song is about nuclear war. You need to have seen "Gorky Park" (1983) to really understand it. Americans claimed the end of the Cold War was theyr merit (as with everything progressiv that happens in Europa) and "wind of change" and Pink Floyd were the trigger. It is actually less about the German Wall, than a fearfull appeal/request to Gorbachev. All the Popes love(d) Russia, for it is the 3rd most Christian and second most churchy country in the World. Lots of goods from the roman church were brought to Russia for save keeping before and during the Slave Revoltes. "Like a storm wind that will ring the freedom bell for peace of mind" means the Americans forcing theyr kind of democracy onto Europe as they did in Iran/Irak in the 2000s. Followed by a hint ("balalaika") that Mama Russia will "overcome" every attack. The last visual is the controversy of wanting change so bad one goes to war for it, but at the same time wanting to keep/protect what one has so bad one goes to war for it (Bunkerdoor).
