Looks like a load of fun Mate. What a fabulous way to spend time. Very relaxing to watch while drinking a cuppa. Thank you for bringing us along. A little bit far for me being in South Australia. Take care and stay safe.

I’m planning on going to kintyre lighthouse the end of the month, just near where you parked your bikes is a memorial to the crew and passengers of a Chinook air crash, killed all on board, wiped out the top brass of Northern Ireland’s security services, June 94, enjoyed the video!!
@thebearfacedbiker4 жыл бұрын
We didn’t loiter as there’s a little stream there and the midges were horrendous! You should fare better in late September - enjoy!

You can't get to the Mull on a bike these days, unless you've got a key to the gate across the road. I went right down to the lighthouse back in 1980 before thet gate was put up. If you think the Bealach is switchbacky you should have tried the descent to the Mull before the road got closed. Pity you didn't go counter clockwise out of Brodick. The views of Lochranza on the way down from the Bogouillie always give me a thrill.
@thebearfacedbiker3 жыл бұрын
One of the team ran down it and back to say he’d been (he’s very keen). The rest of us donned midge nets and tried (and failed) to stop getting eaten at the gate 😩😂

@@thebearfacedbiker If he could run up that hill wearing bike gear he was extremely keen. Bad luck with the midges, it's usually too windy for them there.

Hey I live in Ardrossan, you should have checked out the dalveen pass when you came through dumfries and Galloway. Hands down the best stretch of road south of glen coe

Hi, did arran last year. What a gem...road round is beautiful and great mixture of road from broken and bumpy to smooth and grippy. Definitely going back. Thank you. (Btw...no puncture repair kit?)
@thebearfacedbiker3 жыл бұрын
Cheers! Definitely going again too! Two different puncture kits wouldn’t plug it, it was a big hole - probably from glass on road or something. Used it for repair practice when I got home and now have a much better kit with an array of plugs just in case 🥴

👍 It’s a BMW Navigator 6 - they’re made by Garmin, but the advantage of the BMW one is that it works with the control wheel on the handlebars. It’s not the most intuitive to use and the 6 model has some glitches over the previous 5. They’re also stupidly expensive! BMW just announced a phone cradle and their app can be controlled by the wheel too. So may have a look at that when my dealer have it in stock as the BM app and tracking seems pretty good and easier to use…

Great Vid, did Scotland last year , east, north and west coast mostly NC500 route but so much we didn`t see, Hopefully will be able to return next year via the the Great Atlantic Way and decent weather. Are you saying the Sena Headsets are no good?
@thebearfacedbiker3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Eric! Yes fingers crossed for 2021! No I’m just jibing the other guys as a couple of us had Packtalk and the others had Sena so it was a source of banter and we couldn’t get them working together. I’ve no experience with Sena but can vouch that Cardo Packtalk are very good! Once they managed to get them setup, the other guys Sena systems were fine too - I think they’re all a faff to setup initially.

@thebearfacedbiker Жыл бұрын
Thanks Lee. It’s the red squirrel campsite in Glencoe. Decent site. Can be a midge fest in late summer, but midges weren’t a problem when we were there again a few weeks ago - loads of rain and quite soggy!! 😂👍

Crikey that’s a long list! Well it’s Scotland, so 4 seasons in a day a lot of the time! May or Sep probably lowest risk of midges, but June potentially a bit warmer…

After many problems and frustration with local dealer, I would never buy a KTM again. They want BMW money for what I think is much lower quality. That said, many have fed back that the newer generation GT is much improved. Still for me, the XR is a better overall package of ownership, quality, handling, riding experience. Whether that’s the same for you depends - on local dealer support and whether you have a strong preference for either the v-twin or in-line 4. That’s my view, but you must try both and weigh up all these factors for you.
