I'm an All Blacks fan but Scotland have been bloody amazing lately every time they play they just get better and better. Congrats to you Scotland. You were amazing vs the All Black's putting the pressure on.

Scotland are a quality team. The Wallabies need to get rid of Cheika. He creates an environment where the Wallabies are always the victim and there's someone else to blame for their bad performances

Silly red card by Sekope Kefu. He could've been sent off in the 2015 World Cup Final because he did at least four reckless incidents that warranted a yellow, but somehow escaped punishment. Ben Smith then got a yellow for a half-arsed tip tackle on Drew Mitchell.

Huw Jones after 11 caps is already one of our greatest ever Centers. Just look at who he has scored tries against. 3 against Australia, 2 against England and 1 against the NZ. At 18 he moved to South Africa and quickly started ripping up their league. He was joint top try scorer in the South Africa in 2016 and scored 2 tries to win his side the league final in 2017. After 5 years in South Africa where he became one of the best players in South African rugby he came back home this November to sign for Glasgow Warriors. If he is this good right now for us just imagine how good he is going be for Scotland when he starts playing alongside his Scotland Center partner Alex Dunbar(who is also a very good player) at Glasgow on weekly basis. We may well end up having on of the center partnership's in the world. I knew from when I first clapped eyes on him what a special player he could be when he scored 2 tries and also prevented an Australian try to win match of the match despite being on the losing side in only his second appearance for Scotland last year. Over the past 12 months I have become even more convinced of his abilities and having watched some of his highlights in the South African league it would not surprise me if he is regarded as the best center in the world very soon.

Absolutely fantastic game of rugby from the Scots, the team is pure quality and probably my favourite to watch in the NH. Wallabies, not sure what to say. Record losses to the All Blacks, England and now Scotland in one year and no wins in Super Rugby against NZ opposition. Tough being an Australian rugby fan right now.

Laidlaw getting injured was the best thing to happen to us for a long time. Whilst not the best of players his goal kicking was so great it was very hard to drop him meaning the far superior player Alli Price never got his chance. Right from the Wales game he showed what a quality player he is and now we have a quality scrum half we are brilliant at resetting and attacking after the breakdown. For the six nations I would play Hogg at full back, Russell at Fly Half, Jones and Dunbar in the center, Price at Scrum Half with Seymour on one of the wings with either Visser, Maitland or McGuigan (who was phenomal today) taking the other slot. Finn Russell may not be quite as good at goal kicking as Laidlaw but Ali Price is the far superior scrum half and should start ahead of Laidlaw. For the forwards I would play Ryan Wilson at Number 8 with Hamish Watson and John Barclay as the flankers and the Gray brothers as the locks. I would then play either Brown or Mcinally as Hooker with Marfo and Fragerson as props. Good enough to win the six nations in my opinion.

Team for six nations if everyone is fit: Backs: Full Back: Hogg Fly Half: Russell Scrum Half: Price Center: Dubar and Jones Wing: Seymour and Maitland/McGuigan/Visser Forwards Number 8: Strauss/Wilson Flankers: Barclay and Watson Locks: Gray Brothers Props: Fragerson and Reid Hooker: McInally/Brown That's 8 current Glasgow Warrior players - 10 if you include Wilson and Brown who even if they are not first choice will play a big part. The 10 of them playing together on a weekly basis from now to the six nations will give our side such great chemistry and unity and if they continue their winning ways a lot of confidence. Also the fact that all of them apart from Jones played under Townsend means not only do they have a working relationship with him but they also understand how to play the style he wants to play and all the methods, tactics and tricks he has to win a game which will be so important to us having a great six nations.Then you also have McGuigan, Maitland, Strauss, Barclay, Richie Gray and Reid who all played for Glasgow at some point whilst Townsend was in charge. We also have McInally, Watson, Marfo, Nel, Gilchrist, Toolis and Du Preez who are all likely to play some part (especially McInally and Watson who will likely start) who are all current Edinburgh team mates and Visser who played there from 2010 to 2015 which will be good for team spirit, chemistry and unity. Unlike England, France and Wales all our players know, play and win with each other on a regular basis which will only be good for the national side and give us a huge advantage going into the six nations.

And Lee Jones only has 1 try in 7 appearances for Scotland, 9 tries in 57 appearances for Edinburgh and 4 in 34 appearances for Glasgow. Visser has 14 tries in 33 games for Scotland, 69 tries in 130 games for Edinburgh and 19 in 41 for Harlequins. Yes you should be expected to have an allround game in rugby but you should be expected to score tries on the wing and Lee Jones doesn't whilst Tim Visser is a try machine
@BW-pc7lv
@BW-pc7lv 7 жыл бұрын
And Tommy Seymour has 16 tries in 38 appearances for Scotland. Would love to see McGuigan start on one of the wings who proved his quality today with either Visser or Seymour on the other wing as we need someone with try scoring ability in the team

Australia have gone downhill a lot. They've lost 4 of their last 6 against Scotland not including the debacle of the 2015 world cup, 3 of their last 4 against Ireland and their last 5 against England. England, Ireland and Scotland are clearly now far better sides than Australia and they will have a lot of catching up to do.

Scotland are overdue a truly competitive team. Yes they spanked the Aussies. But that's just one good win. Winning consistently or at least most of your matches over a couple of seasons then you can say they are a top team. Initial signs suggests they'll be competitive. The next 6 nations campaign will be somewhat of a good litmus test of where they are in world rugby. Let's hope they do ruffle a few feathers and get a good result, It'd be interesting to watch at least.

1:04 Due recognition for Kepu at last. During the World Cup Final, he tried to take McCaw's head off from behind with swinging arm, then, after Pocock had later scored and Kepu was lying on top of McCaw, he put the knee into him before getting up. He also late tackled Aaron Smith and took Milner-Skudder around the neck. Either of the last two was a marching offence, but the dirty bastard got away with it. Very pleased to see his latest brain explosion suitably rewarded.

I see Wales and ABs in the RWC Finals from this week's performances. England is good but just not consistent enough. I don't see Scotland beating England but I'd have to watch what happens when Warburton gets back to leading. Australia won't even crack top 4 at this rate. Quite sad tbh.

Folau, Pocock, Coleman out of action. This was a game played for 40 minutes with 14 men and for 10 minutes with 13 men. Not indicative of Wallabies capabilities versus Scotland with 15 men. But credit to Scotland they played well in first half when it was 15 men apiece.

Big ups to the Scots, you truly came forth & conquered like true brave heart warriors , & as many of you have said, a true sign of a nation ready to take on the world maybe, , but lets not get carried away to much here, beating a T1 team doesn't màke you world beaters, wheather it's by 1 or 101 , its about winning consistently, week in , week out, getting to the tòp is the easy part, staying at the top is the hardest Look at Oz, they beat the ABs, was this game going to be their resurrection back into the top , NAH, did they carry on wining? NAH, are they world beaters ?,NAH, they consistent winners ?NAH, anyone other team you know who falls into this category, YEAP, everyone else except the ABs, there is a saying, you will never soar like an eagle, if you keep flying like a crow.

Congratulations to Scotland. But? I just want to point out that the All Blacks are working on a development squad for the next world cup, so half of the players who played against Scotland i had no idea who they were. Also Scotland had an advantage with having Sekope red carded in the first half. But in saying that revenge is sweet they should've been in the Final with the All Blacks not Australia in the recent world cup.

Milly Pastrana You make excellent points and to be honest I'm not quite sure why I'm responding (probably just excitement from actually being able to have these conversations after so many years) I will say, at least for this game, Scotland lost Hogg, their best player constantly involved in their attacking plays, due to injury during warm up, had very little time to adjust top that off with a multitude of first and second caps all over the field I would say the disadvantages plaguing both teams evened each other out and showed how well Scottish rugby has progressed in such a tiny period of time compared to the turnaround of many other teams

Kefu is dirty. One of the dirtiest players in Rugby. He should be banned from the game altogether. I still remember 2015 wc final and his dangerously disgusting foul plays.

Australian rugby is fucked. Being an young aussie I can tell u that the rep system and junior rugby system is a complete mess and thus why I have stopped playing the sport I love and I believe its starting to lead into the wallabies (Prepare for a large rant). Its a rich person sport and people are more interested in money and social hierarchy then actually furthering the game.For example union cannot compete with league yet due to the aru and leaders of local comps believing they are "Better" or "superior" to league they decide to play on the same days that league is on in order to compete (At least thats what happens in NSW). 90% of kids these days although they would like to play both sports will always choose league as its what they see on TV every friday and sunday. So instead of working with league to get the playing days right so there are no clashes there are no players in the competitions around where I am from. Where I am from there is a large city nearby and basically even though some great players from the country trial the kids from that city are guaranteed a game due to the coaches and parents being friends with the coaches. Also fantastic rugby players whose main sport is league who trial are also unlikely to get picked although they know the rules of rugby simply because they are "Leaguies" and its little things like that could ruin aus rugby entirely. This all leads to less quality players making it too higher levels. Less and Less money is going to grassroots rugby and sports like League, AFL and soccer are taking over. Until the ARU decides to do something Australian rugby is going to struggle. p.s The ARU needs to get super rugby free to air if they want it to continue being relevant in AUS.
