As I've never had the misery of my car being submerged in water, I'm assuming petrol and diesel cars dry out ok , and are able to be driven Electric cars , I'm assuming have the batteries and electrics in the bottom of your boot Are electric cars a right off after the same thing happens ?

No they suck up water and try to compress it destroys the engine.

@james thurlow yep! Hydraulic lock! An idiot I worked with drove through a fast running Ford at 35mph and it destroyed the engine in his Mercedes. Insurance wouldn't settle as they said he was negligent, so it was a 20 k bill or a write-off. In the end, he broke it for parts and ended up severely out of pocket.

2 Mercedes oil breather pipes very low, those engines have had it, you cant compress water.
