Hiya George, We took a chance on this one, unsure we would get there, as the road had been un-passable. An igloo would have been an option...lol. Hi Guy's, We were unsure wether we could actually get to our destination, but set off anyhow. Luckily the road had been cleared, this made us very happy. Nice to follow the tracks both but when you hit the snow it's like another pack on your pack. Pristine indeed! That sound is special - the place is pure magic! Wow! The night blooming beautiful cold. My bro would love that. All the best to you both - super nice camp! Mark
@garnforaratch6 жыл бұрын
Pristine it was Mark, like i said it seemed a shame to walk through it. It was totally silent, just the soft whoosh of snow sliding from the boughs of the trees. It was cold but thankfully no wind, the snow was also causing problems for the Roe deer, their gangly leg's weren't coping with the depth to well. We had great views of the milkyway but sadly we don't have the camera equipment to capture it. Thanks for watching and taking time-out to comment...All the very best...Roger & Diane

Hi Andy & Cazza, Hope youz are settled in to your new home! These were conditions that are a camping dream, deep snow, no wind, dry and cold, brilliant....Aye we cycled in to camp at this little lochan a while ago, when we seen the amount of snow they'd had up there we bombed the lakes off, and glad we did. Diane did well, the white stuff can really drain you with a full pack on. When we got home that night it was on telly that mountain rescue had to be called out to a guy who had been snowed in for 7 days in a remote cottage up there, he'd set off to the nearest road and had knackerd himself walking through it. A camp to remember, it had a feel of real adventure. Nee wind either...! Take care both, is Cazza back oot soon? ATB R&D

Hiya Alan, We were blown away with the amount of snow up there, the higher we got the deeper it got. Just lacking a bit of confidence as were not sure if our gear will stand up and don't want to get the car stuck? Do you know of any good locations that are easily accessible in the snow? Thanks again for the vid.
@garnforaratch6 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, Thanks for the sub...! Getting there can be a problem in winter, also getting out again...lol. Winter shouldn't mean that the tent has to go away, but you should definately be well prepared. Clothing,food,fuel for cooking etc, and of course a good shelter and sleep system. It can be quite daunting getting in and out of these places, extra food in the vehicle, shovel, snowchains are all advisable. Wouldn't like to offer any advise on locations really, we're not claiming to be experts by any means. Know your limits would be the only thing i could say, turning back is'nt failing. Stay Safe...Happy Camping...Regards Roger & Diane
