I can remember watching these when they were on TV years back. The OP house where the squad pile out of is now a Dentists Surgery. And the bank is now an Estate Agents. The telephone box is not there now.

Taken by prison officers to Moorfields Hospital in central London to see a consultant about a permanent eye problem, at the end of the appointment he asked to use the lavatory. Once inside a masked gunman burst in, forced the officers to the floor and ordered them to release Doyle from handcuffs. He fled to Ireland.

I bet recruitment went sky-rocketing when young lads saw this and assumed every day it was OPs, chasing 'wrong'uns', fighting and shooting at the robbers. 3 years later they had all left because of the struggle to get promoted to DC, DS or DI, and because the institution of banking has become much less a part of our lives, everything being done on a computer. I would've gone either for the mounted unit which is money for doing what you adore, or the dog section, ditto. I looked at the water police, but they just go up and down the Thames shouting at people to stop making a wake, or to mind the floating corpse in the river.
