Your perspective on products and the use of are great conversations, for us to choose to put another tool in the bag. I would like to see this be more active on your channel. As you do, keep it simple, instructional, and to the point!

Tried your way of squeezing the trigger. It tightened my groups, to where I don’t shoot at the same spot on my bag target. Thanks for that. Saves $$$$$$$🎉

That's a good tip with how you put the thumb and finger together. I think the more people get use to shooting with tension, the stiffer they want to setup the release.

Thanks for explaining why you touch your thumb to index. I did notice that months ago and figured you being a bigger guy was the reason. I’m definitely going to incorporate that as a gauge on my sigma.

Alright MFJJ! No mention of wrist rockets?!? - You gonna leave the index finger shooters hanging!?!

Things to review! Pinch points in the hand (to fingers consistently go back to the same point) Length of the release measurement (see how much draw length we lose). Adjustable “hotness” level Adjustability of the barrel

I had a Scott Sigma for a good while, but I switched it out for the Apex Core. I feel like the Apex Core is superior in every way except the hook direction. The Apex Core just felt better in hand, it has a bigger thumb barrel (which I like), and it's WAY easier to cock. The Scott Sigma had the stiffest cocking button on a release that I have ever used in my life.

I have been shooting the core for a couple months. Love it but closing hook, I use my middle finger to push closed. Works well for me

I knock out 2 of my front teeth stuffing around with my release a few years ago, it was like someone punched me in the mouth as hard as they could with brass knuckles, I still haven't gotten my teeth fixed but I've got my release dialed in, that's the main thing.

I would be a dandy if you could review a SCOTT ARCHERY Pursuit Thumb Release RCS Buckle Strap Black . Had my eye on this based on moving away from a trigger release but being budget friendly.

A few ideas for things to talk about, fit and finish, bang for your buck, how crips, if they have a similar version so you can switch back and forth without changing DL or anchor point. Duel function like the GOAT, A few I’m interest in wise choice, Stan onnex, sweet spot pro. Thanks for all the info you are putting out !!

Good review but really appreciated the tips in how to use & set up. I also set my trigger releases to heavy. Would like to see you review the back tension Whalen's Hooker release - it's not new but been using it & found it great for 3D.

Would love to see some reviews on B3 releases. That Apex core looks very similar to the B3 omega pro

I have the apex and not the core. I like the open hook design but it seems like I can’t get the tension high enough for my liking. Had to put travel in it to make it feel harder.
@EricCornelius-yx9ps Жыл бұрын
As always appreciate your knowledge. When you were first setting the tension it had a very loud “ting”. Think that would be annoying and not sure what kind of difference it would make when shooting at a live target.

One of these days I'll venture into a handheld release. It's just that I have 30+ years of using a wrist strap trigger release, and I'm not sure this old dog can learn new tricks. Lol. Great initial review.

I dont have trigger panic so my index releases are just fine. If anything I am just trying to keep up with the latest trend but I dont have a lot of confidence in hand held releases. I am watching and listening though, and will probably take the plunge soon. Some of them are pretty expensive for my pocket.

Great review, i have been using the Sigma for about 12 months now . its a great release but am looking for something very similar in an open hook as i feel the Sigma is too loud for hunting situations at times so i want to just use that for my target set up

Man I dont know if your still wanting video ideas or not but I would like to see your thoughts on bow maintenance wax or not stuff like that. And a complete bow tear down with a bearing change and do you grease the limb in the pocket or not just a idea.

Can you do a review or a “how to” on the proper way to shoot an index release?

Paige pierce did a video same bow same everything except arrows one spun clockwise the other spun counter clockwise so yes arrows do play a part in which way it spins

Here's an idea... in the reviews you could measure the length of the neck since it can effect anchor position and it could be an interesting detail to compare releases

What closed jaw thumb button would be similar in form (size and geometry) and function to the truball abyss? It's great for the target bow but I like closed jaw releases for my hunting bow. Trying to find one as similar to the abyss and it's hinge sibling the Fulkrum so I'm not constantly pestering my anchor point and peep height between bows.

I actually got to try one yesterday and it felt good. I did notice that little sound you did as well which was kinda weird but being its the same sound every time means most likely supposed to be there? Or at least nothing was wrong with the one I shot anyway? I'll be sticking with my Carter Wise Choice I reckon. Enjoy the reviews and the honesty with them.

@aninjastruggle Жыл бұрын
Not a moron. Thanks for what you do! I still think it is weird you (many people) shoot a thumb like a hinge, train with a hinge then hunt thumb button.. im going to get a thumb eventually, but i just dont know when I will have the urge to spend the dough

@cgb845 Жыл бұрын
I’d like to know when it comes to releases…how much does the release mechanism affect your shot. I shoot a sigma and wonder which hinge release I should try based on the release mechanism. Open hook vs closed etc. Should I try and match them as close as possible or am I just being ridiculous because I’ll never see a difference at my skill level?
@greggbernard2715 Жыл бұрын
Hey MFJJ, As I was watching you touched on something that I have been wondering and that is how the "Jaw" opening affects the shot. My question is does the "jaw" facing a different direction change the twist or pressure/tension on the string enough to affect the shot ?
@jonheatlie3809 Жыл бұрын

Do a review on the sigma itself. There like 1 on KZbin.

I fall in the category of “wanting quality archery gear without it costing an arm and a leg”. Last year I got the Truball Stalkr thumb button and its been great, crisp release with tension and travel adjustment. It was $150, which for some is still expensive but definitely worth it to me. I’ve tried the Scott Sigma, Carters, and the UV Button which were all nice but for some spending 200-300 on a release isn’t practical. Would love your opinion MFJJ on the truball cause I think it’s a good option for serious archers on a budget
