Dan, spend some time with the stan and you'll love it. With the different post lengths, barrel sizes, sensitivity adjustments you can get into fit exactly how you want. My personal favorite thing is being able to lock the jaw so that I can practice squeezing the trigger and not firing it. I use it to draw back and just hold on target as long as I can before squeeze off the "shot". It's really helped me not to flinch and the shot.

Stan is the first “higher end” type of release I’ve used. Bought one used off of archerytalk. Had issues with it and had to send it to Stan to have it worked on. They paid for everything besides shipping there, and I had it back within 5 days. Best customer service I’ve dealt with, and I love the release itself. The adjustment and crispness when it goes off is awesome.

Made the switch from the silverback/evo20 to the stand perfex. Best choice I made. The stan is far more consistent then the carter. The carter was fluctuating by several lbs between shots compared to a steady .5ish lbs per shot. I want to get the thumb perfex for S and Gs. But the tension is what I've been shooting solely for several years now

I loved my Nock2it (Carter) until I shot a Stan! The Perfex is $$$! They make standard and heavy versions. Mine is a heavy long neck thumb button, so it has the string keeper to clip on the d loop. Awesome release.

I’m a huge fan of the Sigma. My wife bought me one for Christmas a few years back and I’ve ended my search for a hunting release. I like the scalloped finger grooves, it allows me to shoot a lot more without finger soreness. Carters always seem a bit tight in the fingers for me.

I have both of the Perfexs from Stan, shoot both to train but hunt with the thumb release! Also those Stan's felt extra heavy because those are the heavy metal versions, there are other Perfexs that are a lot lighter!

Throwing my two cents in... Love the content, as always Danimal. I'm 35, got into bowhunting 5yrs ago and fell into the Carter release camp pretty immediately, thanks to Dudley. Shot my first several animals with the Silverback, which is a back tension release...I DO love backtension....but I did eventually get the Nock2it, which is nice because it's the exact same shape as the Silverback...but like you, I now touch my thumb/index tips together and pull..which was impossible with the Nock 2 it based ony my hand size..I couldn't get a repeatable thumb position that didn't cause target panic..... I bought the Stan Perfex finally about a year ago....damn...I "get it" now. Yeah they pricey but very smooth, very adjustable, feels as good as the UV hinge in your hands, but you can clip onto the string. I've recently attached it to a wrist strap and giving that a go...tired of always worrying that my release fell out of my bino/pocket... I DO like how the UV Hinge feels in my hand, but the neck on it is much longer and it would require me to shorten my DL and i'm 27.5"...I noticed you were able to shoot them all without much Draw length-related issues...that also might factor into how some of the hinges felt today too. Great video, clearly helps give ppl some ideas about each before they drop 250-300 on one.

Was lucky enough to buy one ytd (perfex shortneck alu), arrives on Monday I think. But read some reviews on amazon apparently it had broke for two people which made me very skeptical and instantly regretted the purchase... But IK there are Paid Shills from other companies going around pushing these, and everyone seems to love Stan. Have you had any success with yours?

@@bravefastrabbit770 I have a perfex long neck thumb, and I LOVE it. The last thumb you’ll buy - ability to go from 2 to 3 to 4 finger at any angle is awesome - it’s truly a buy one release and you’ve got it all type system (for a thumb button)

@@jakestockwell4017 Thank you for replying bro! Kinda lowered my spirits reading those two specific reviews and started worrying me, if it breaks I'm fucked as I don't live in the US and need to get it shipped back here which entails tariffs (fuck Sweden). I got the short neck because I feel my draw length is just a little too long, and it was coincidentally the only one in stock lol. They're not produced anymore, and the OnneX will probably have a 3-6 months lead time like any other new archery product for 2022 so I really hope it was a good decision! How long have you had yours and what poundage do you shoot?
@jakestockwell40173 жыл бұрын
I’ve had mine about a year now, and I shoot 70lb! Shot it a lot last year. The only difference I see between short and long neck (aside from neck length) is the hook retainer on the long neck, which the short doesn’t have. Only matters if you leave it on your string though, which I don’t. I use a wrist strap (d-loop material) so it’s always on my wrist when I’m hunting

Set the click to go off as soon as you anchor in and relax! You don't want it to go off once you start the process, use it to signify the start of your release process. I go back and forth between click and no click. Generally no-click for indoor, click for 3d and trigger for hunting. Good video. Always good to look at whats new in archery!

I have shot the Sigma and own the Stan Perfex and the Carter Wise Choice. I wouldn't have the Sigma, it is too difficult in a crunch to hook it to a d-loop. I acquired a pile of releases while I was struggling with target panic. The single best tool I found was the SCAT release - Siegfried's Controlled Automatic Trigger. Once you set it up, all you do is aim and the release will fire after the time you set it for has elapsed. No more target panic. Now, I shoot either a Carter (Just B Cuz and Two Shot) or Stan (Perfex) when practicing and hunt with a junky trigger finger release that I can command to fire. All the proper practice makes the hunting shot a breeze.

@Knifestories3 жыл бұрын
Funny stuff. I own 2 Pursuits, and a Sigma. Keep going back to my Pursuit. I like the open jaw and the ease of hooking up to the d-loop compared to the sigma. It is also quiter. But the way you can customize the Sigma on the trigger travel and weight of the trigger makes it also very appealing and easy to use. I hunt whitetail from a stand, so really my release is always hooked to my d-loop and ready to go. So Sigma it is if I could only choose one for hunting. But for practice the Pursuit hands down.

Another Outstanding Video. Thanks Guys. ps. just picked up the Scott Sigma ;)
@quantumeraser48332 жыл бұрын
UPDATE: About 1600 shots in with the Sigma; **IT'S THE BOMB !!!!!** 1. Ergonomically - nothing...and I mean NOTHING compares. 2. No 'SET SCREWS', just adjust Tension and Movement Directly; can't stand 'Set Screws'. 3. Not only is The Arc that the Thumb Barrel Extension is attached to Sweet (plenty of Angle of Adjustment) it's position/location on the release sets this apart from **EVERY SINGLE RELEASE MADE !!!** Why ?? If the Attachment is set too far forward (towards your middle finger) then drawing the bow back becomes problematic because your thumb must be placed on the 'FIRING SIDE' of the Thumb Button risking serious Dental Work ...and worse. To avoid that - sure, you can angle the extension to be on the same plane as the finger base of the release --like that is shown in the video above, THEN... let THE PUNCHING ENSUE !! I have the extension 90 degrees or straight back from the index finger. When I come to anchor, the thumb barrel naturally fits in the web at the base of my thumb -- NO MORE PUNCHING !!! ---Just lightly squeeze an pull, Voila. The Crispness Rivals that of Fresh Sun Chips. The barrel itself can swivel to any position you wish. The cocking mechanism (most people complain about)/having to physically clip the hook around the D-Loop -- Prevents Dry Firing Your Bow !!! -- it easily just becomes part of your shot routine. IMHO, this is: **THE BEST THUMB RELEASE EVER DESIGNED !!** BAR NONE !! #2 isn't in the Galactic Vicinity. Hope it helps, John

I think that for most people it comes down to price on releases, not everyone can afford a release that’s perhaps above $150. But if you could afford anything above that, then it would come down to preference or different application. I personally try a few releases before I made my choice and it came down to a thumb rather than a hinge. As soon as I made a shoot with the heavy metal PERFEX, I felt as if it was made for me. You can imagine how much better it was when I was able to adjust it and get it dialed in. I am fortunate enough to afford the release, which I know I will keep for a very long time. By the way the previous release I was using was the wise choice by CARTER an amazing release as well, however I can’t say anything about the sigma I have never tried one.

Shot the stainless today. It is extremely comfortable, but not worth $300. In my opinion the upgrades did not live up to the hype. The adjustability is nice, but the tolerances aren't nearly good enough in my opinion. The added width was an upgrade to the overall feel for sure. All that said I would not spend the money on it aluminum or stainless! Side by side with my HBC Flex and the fit, finish and tolerances of the HBC were far better than the ultraview! Ultraview is absurdly over priced compared to its competitors and has an inferior release in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, it shot well, but still was clearly missing a few things. At $199 for the Stainless I might be a buyer, maybe.. $299.. not a chance
