Scott Hall discusses his time in AWA Wrestling, tagging with Curt Hennig, first match there vs Larry Zbyszko, Verne Gagne and more. Stream New Shoot Interviews 📺 TitleMatchNetwo...
RIP to the late-great Scott Hall. Here the Bad Guy talks about leaving the Kansas City territory and heading to Minneapolis for Verne Gagne. First night there Scott would find himself across the ring from vetern Larry Zbyszko, who he would work with again later in WCW.
Scott also goes into detail about his friendship with Curt Hennig aka Mr Perfect in the World Wrestling Federation. Scott & Curt had a long history together from AWA to WWF and of course WCW.
We also hear about Wrestlerock 1986, Bill & Scott Irwin and many other memories from the American Wrestling Alliance.
Originally produced by RF Video Inc in 2007. Licensed for exclusive distribution on Title Match Network.

I've learned more about life in 17 minutes from a 2007 interview about the mid-1980's from the late, great Bad Guy.

I've always wondered why he was never The AWA World Heavyweight Champion? They were building him up for a Major Title Run! I can only imagine The Matches he would have had in Japan as The AWA World Heavyweight Champion at All Japan Pro Wrestling Shows. He clearly had The Presence, The Size, The Skill Set The Work Ethic.

@@JuliusC1973 I remember another shoot interview with Scott Hall where he said something a little different. Scott said that he was offered a spot in the NWA (or was it WCW?). He gave Verne his notice, and Verne countered with the offer of the AWA belt. Scott said he would be making more money jobbing in the NWA than as the AWA champ.

@@JuliusC1973 comments, some people could be great champions but their presence and skills are so good that they don’t need the belts to prop them up - as crazy as that sounds as usually when you’re a champion you don’t need to be propped up to stretch out your big runs and longevity of career , the championship does help and just some wrestlers need it more than others in my opinion.. The same as Ted Dossi Terry Funk, or Steve Kiern as an example. Championships were different organizations were made for certain reasons. As an example, the NWA world champion had to be a guy that votes his life 100% to the title, can wrestle 400 matches a year, do the job when needed and ( not scared of flying or traveling. ). lol

I love what Scott said about if a guy is good enough to beat you don't kick out on the three, lay there and sell it. I always felt that made moments. Kick outs on three just killed the atmosphere of them beating you.

Man, when I was a 18 and 19 years old kid he was still Big Scott Hall. He was quite at the gym and I never saw this big personality. When he came out with Razor Ramon I was blown away by his chops. I was no huge wrestling fan, but loved his shtick. I am telling you even though he was suppose to be a bad guy I always saw him as a fan favorite. Not because I met him and he spotted me and just nice to me. His character was my favorite by FAR….

My take on Verne is that Vern was still a Pro Wrestler when Sports Entertainment was taking over. Its a shame because I like watching the Wrestling side of things. I've watched some old matches where I had to watch close to tell they were working and not actually Wrestling. An example of that is an old Dick the bruiser vs Vern Gagne match. And alot of the old Lou Thez videos.
