Asking for more money at a time when the business had just about bottomed out probably wasn’t the most calculated move. Luckily though, it worked out for everyone. Razor had reached his ceiling as a babyface in the WWF and would have needed to turn heel for his character to gain both some range & depth and thus increase his drawing potential, same goes for Lex just before he bounced.

While maybe not intended, what a burial of Bret Hart. Give him the belt and he's happy to make just 400K and beat everyone. So of course Vince isn't going to pay Hall and Nash more than that and look what happened. Bret was the indirect reason WCW passed WWF in the ratings and then when Bret refused to drop the title to Shawn, he became the indirect reason WWF retook the #1 spot with inadvertently helping to create the Mr. McMahon character to butt heads with Steve Austin.

Vince just didn't take talent seriously
@brandonwenzel28446 ай бұрын
Vince understood that his talent was his product. He learned from his dad that he should bleed out whatever he could from the guys working for him, and once they were spent, or not worth it anymore, drop em. Hall was still really over at that point, but I think Vince saw him as being more trouble than he was worth. Vince also hated it when his guys tried to get one over on him in negotiations. He took that personally, and I think that's what happened with Hall.

It’s funny how Hall brought up having to go to target and sign autographs for free. Then drive 200 miles to the next show. Back in 94’ Hall and Tanaka had an autograph meet and great at the Philadelphia Racetrack. It was $5.00 a person. There had to be about 200 people there. Hall and Tanaka were a little over an hour late. I remember Hall being real pissed off. Not happy to be there. I was 10 years old. I was petrified of him. He was a huge guy. RIP Scott

Scott was probably a lot more business savvy than Brett when it came to the wrestling side of things. Brett had a lot more personal pride that caused him issues with his career, whereas Scott knew to put the money before his pride. Unfortunately, Scott made a lot of bad decisions in his personal life that really tanked his finances. Brett obviously was smarter at holding onto his money.
