Scott Hamilton - I Love Me (1995)

At the 1995 Rock 'n' Roll Figure Skating Championships, Scott pays tribute to egotistical hotel lounge lizards everywhere with a montage of songs including "I Love Me," "Feelings" and "Copa Cobana." I don't know who had more fun - him doing it, or me watching it.

How can you not love Scott? I love the music he chooses, how he skates to the music, almost like dancing, and that million dollar smile. He's the best. Nobody comes close.

Marvelous! He had such a good time skating. He was the best and was amazing as a person. He also survived cancer three times. He is a Christian and that is wonderful!

Thank you for sharing. I love Scott Hamilton, and so did my Mom. She loved figure skating overall but Scott was our favorite. We watched him win the gold in 1984. We jumped up and down like a couple of kids. 😘

There was a core group of skaters in the 1980s and 1990s who seemed destined to come together and change the sport, and Stars on Ice was a huge part of that. It may never happen again. The attitude is like, okay, I’ve won an Olympic medal, the world is going to make me rich, right? But when Scotty got there, they didn’t hand him a fortune on Ice Capades like Dorothy Hamill because he was a man! He realized he had to make his own fortune and launched SOI, and there just happened to be a group of really wonderful skaters at the time who rode his wave to stardom. There will be medalists and ice shows, but there will never be a group like that, with Scott Hamilton as the leader.
