Of the "Big Three" Josepf Lamp , James Scott and Scott Joplin, Scott Joplin was the best, no one compares to him...

From 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 this music is so tuneful and always a delight to listen to. I love it.
What a genious he was. I am deeply moved each time I listen to Bethena...

There’s a reason why he’s called the father of ragtime. So many great pieces.

He came up with more top rags than anyone else. But one that tops Scott Joplin, in my opinion, is Perfect Rag by Jelly Roll Morton. The best rendition of it is by Morten Gunaar Laarsen. Better than the original.

these seem to be played at original tempo. Most people blaze through ragtimes like a player piano on crack lol

either that or they play it too god damned slow

It's often a wonder when I listen to Scott Joplin's Eugenia. I think of my maternal grandmother whose first name was Eugenia.

When I was moving furniture for a living, whenever we moved a piano, we used to tell them we refuse to leave until they play that one- and that was the very same song description we gave! _until one guy who actually played it, let us in on the title....

@@keithkirk8697 we are waiting for his own geniale compositions, inspired by his totem. But his opinion is a complete misunderstanding from a musicologist point of view : never met a musicologist explainind genius ans history of music by his totem. moreover, his opinion means imperialistic conceptions : a great composer should be from Western countries, and obey Church...well didn't MOZART himself flow away from Salzburg and that horrible Coloredo ?

So your saying a person that doesn't believe in God can't compose??

The tracks are blended, or so close together the interface is annoying. Too bad. :(
