This sold out performance at Portland's Star Theater includes Jenny Conlee (The Decemberists), Mike Mills and Peter Buck (R.E.M.) and James Mercer (The Shins).
Accomplished guitarist Scott McCaughey suffered a stroke in November 2017 while on tour in San Francisco but was in attendance and performed with Filthy Friends, the Portland supergroup featuring Sleater-Kinney's Corin Tucker and R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck. This sounds pretty good but Stipe has that country voice that trembles and just fits these songs perfectly. Not that this singer is not doing a good job 👏🏻! He is but no one can sing like Stipe! And Mills backed him up perfectly! Then Buck with the Mandolin sound! Wonderful!
