dean I agree; I read the comics before watching the film and I gotta say, they absolutely butchered Ramona’s character. She comes off as way more of a bitch because they remove all of her big character development moments from the comics. She doesn’t even seem to love Scott here; it’s more as if she’s tolerating him and just chilling while he battles all of her evil exes (except when she joins in and battles Roxy). I know it was because they initially planned to have Scott end up with Knives, but that doesn’t excuse how little development she got once they reshot the ending.

God, Envy is just a great example of what's wrong with Scott. He's not even hung up with her because she broke his heart, he's hung up on her because she's the one girl he didn't get tired of before he dropped her like an out-of-style t-shirt, and God forbid he be in any state of emotional vulnerability like the bad end of a fucking breakup like any of the girls he dated who happened to commit the cardinal sin of becoming familiar. The craziest shit is that Envy broke up with him yet she spends so much time as though SHE got dumped. If Scott were anything resembling a healthy person, he might notice that despite ostensibly being in a relationship, she is clearly hung up on him, fucking writing a song about him, dedicating time and effort to show him just how much she has supposedly moved on to fame, success and love all without him. Because, yeaaah, when you fully move on after a breakup, making sure your ex knows is at the top of the to do list. But again, Scott is so fucking self centered he can't actually focus on other people long enough to notice this shit even when its to his benefit. Shit this may have gotten autobiographical.

not sure if this was implied to be a sequel or a reboot, but much as I love this film, I'd like to see a reboot TV series. The last installments of the source material were not even done yet when they were doing this film-only some notes, and Scott is less..."timely michael cera/jesse eisenberg" type and way more of a looser as a person when the comics begin, like legit super looser. With all the material that's there we could get through five episodes without seeing Romona Flowers. There could be 2-3 seasons before he basically gets his "happy ending" and this kind of music (/indie/underground/etc has also had a big resurgence in popularity so now would be the time to strike).
