Great job Tom and Scott. He gives the complete picture on how to develop a team. One interesting thought he mention is how teams beat themselves more than getting beat by their opponent. Exactly what is happening to the team now. If the people in charge are going to turn this team around that will be the first sign that they are going in the right direction.

The only way this tedious conversation is relevant to the present situation is if you buy the notion that there is any remote similarity at all between Bill's underlying skills and Mayo's, which is an absolutely, pathologically insane take. Fire Mayo now.

Stop! Belichick ran the greatest tight end in NFL history, Rob Gronkowski, and the greatest quarterback in NFL history, Tom Brady, out of town! Meanwhile, they won another Super Bowl and had three extra amazing seasons, while Bill went into the gutter! What a football genius!

I’m so excited about the future and in this draft please get two smart tackles. You don’t need the best tackles. Just smart tackles. So many penalties have costed us a couple games. Just get a couple smart tackles that can protect Drake’s blindside and won’t get a bunch of penalties. Then go sign a veteran receiver pay him a lot of money and one of them will definitely want to come here now that we have a very good young quarterback.

"You cannot manage, what you cannot measure" according to Peter Drucker - stays in my head today from grad school. Unless you measure something (i.e. performance), you do not know if it is getting better or worse. Smart by Pioli to mention letting the emotion out at end of season - before making decisions. Easy for fans to want heads to roll, but trust the process - there is also a psychology to sports, not just emotion.

If I had Travis Hunter, I'd play him on offense and then put him on third downs and obvious passing situations on defense.
@littlenugs9942Ай бұрын
The only progress ive seen is that the offense looks better. Not great, but better than what it has in the last couple seasons. What shocks me is the teams ready to fire Van Pelt, yet the defense has looked much worse... Why isnt anyone talking about Covington job being on the line. I dont get it....

Unfortunately, many yards come during garbage time when teams are sitting on leads. Arizona and Houston are two examples

Hey what’s up, Go Sox!! Even tho I’m frustrated in the wait for more moves. It’s ok to spend smart. I don’t want them tied down to old players for more than 2/3yrs. Maybe they want that money for Crotchet extension and to get Vlad. They can trade more prospects for established MLB players under team control.. Also I would call Padres see what they want for Cease and Luis Arraez😅 I’d go trade more prospects for players with control. Red Sox are lazy there’s move to be made man. Mariners, Padres, Oakland, Twins, Marlins, Rockies, etc call them and let’s start wheeling and dealing.. pitching and young hitters. Or they could be holding that money to go get Vlad next yr.. what would it take to get

Why isn’t all attention focused on the coaching staff that seemingly didn’t do anything during the bye week to prepare the team to win the last winnable game on the schedule?
@thatDUDEfromMAINEАй бұрын
this team is a mess and the best thing for the team is to lose out the rest of the schedule
@4orrcountryАй бұрын
ALL of the attention?? Do ya really want to blame the coaching staff when the team has SO LITTLE TALENT?
@jackthequarterbackАй бұрын
@ defense had enough talent last year to be decent without their best defensive player in gonzo. Every good player on defense has regressed in literally ever metric. The entire point of going with Mayo without interviewing anyone was continuity on defense. I’m old enough to remember Mayo laughing at the proposition of his team winning less than the team did last year😂. Greatly increase QB play, re-sign the whole defense and the team is far worse. Players are the same, the only difference is coaching.
@peterbrown1208Ай бұрын
Can't the Kraft's hire Scott, old number 50 and McDaniels and rebuild this thing top down? Most of 'em like/love the area so it'll be like home. The solution is so simple, but so complicated at the same time. I remember one of those old docs about Brady where Belichick said someone said let's take Brady where n the 6th round and he told them why not. Can't hurt to have another QB. Bet it was Scott. Good one TC.

Player personnel is only part of the problem with the Pats this year. And, of course, we can expect that to improve greatly next year (we hope). But it's where Mayo has changed the culture, in a negative way, that is also a major contributor to the current clusterf**k. And that isn't going to change with the current coaching staff and front office. The Pats can absolutely kill it in free agency, and with the current dysfunction on the coaching staff and lack of leadership from Mayo even an awesome free agent and draft class will all be for nought.
@coreycallahan4474Ай бұрын
Mayo is a CEO not a coach, that is how he sees himself. He is not the person who rebuilds a team. He needs some of the best assistant coaches and coordinators in the game and who is going to work for him if he keeps deflecting blame?

Boring interview. Get specific with your examples if you want to provide real insights. Sure, if someone sucks it's important to ask why. So who does Scott think is underperforming on the current team? What mistakes has he seen the coaches make? What about Wolf and the scouting department? Let's get nitty gritty on the deficits and then discuss possible whys. Then follow up with what needs to be done to improve. And let's turn the spotlight on Mayo, Wolf and the Krafts as well as the players.
