Tried this at a 1:3 ratio into an equal volume of ice (60g) and diluted the concentrate with cold water for one of the best "Japanese Pourovers" I've ever tasted. This is such a versatile and consistent way to make great coffee even better! Thanks Scott.

Did the recipe change? It says to use a 5:1 ratio on my Decent. My first attempt turned out pretty good. I'm excited to play around with this one.

Pretty tasty cup, i would love to have this from a EK or EG-1 I'd imagine its so clean and juicy. I enjoy it but I know my grinder just won't achieve that level.

You need a 24 gram basket.

What burr set is in the ultra? Better to use a filter focused or espresso focused set?

We're not really sure..

Im getting a lot of bitternes when using this recipie. Im using cut chemex filters and have a Niche. Do you think the bitterness comes from the fines the Niche produces?
@decentespressotech2 жыл бұрын
In my opinion,, the bitterness is from the beans.. Since it's got the material which is bitter. The best way to get the answer for your question is, starting a thread in Diaspora. A lot of users will share their experiences and tips.

Quick question, relative to the Rao Allonge on a Decent, is this grind coarser or finer and to what degree? Having trouble finding that sweet spot.
@decentespressotech2 жыл бұрын
The Allonge shot requires a coarser grind setting. Closer to and aeropress grind but a bit finer. If using a Niche and getting close to 9 bar but not quite. Use 1/4 notch changes and purge a few beans to see the true change you have made on the extraction. (A small change will create a big change in your pressure with this profile) You are looking for a steady climb up in pressure with a steady decline in pressure as the extraction progresses.
