Scott's Garage - Tune-Up and Oil Change - Honda GCV 160 Lawnmower

For many years, Scott only put gas in his lawnmower and nothing else. So, the time has come for a little maintenance. He purchased a tune-up kit from Amazon and also a much needed carburetor gasket kit. After a cleaning, Scott replaces the air filter, fuel filter, and spark plug. He also replaces all 5 of the carburetor gaskets after discovering at least 2 of them were broken. Then, he changes the oil, and repairs a broken filter housing. Try using ethanol free fuel. You can search online for gas stations in your area that sell ethanol free fuel. It really helped my Honda GCV 160 run a lot better. Great video, these lawnmowers are almost indestructible with proper maintenance.

Effing Hondas have a useless plastic carb shroud, a throttle plate and five gaskets..Briggs and Strattons have one O ring between the engine and the intake manifold. Honda tried for years to make a reliable automatic choke and never quite figured it out. They no longer make lawn mowers as of the end of 2022. Good riddance.
