Nice details . 🤙I put a small bit of wire on the door for the rear shock. Just the type of plastic coated wire used for twisting on plastic bags or plants. I will never loose it or put it somewhere.

Hey I must say its a very good review and a lot of suggestions. My add would be to grease all the pivots and bearings before going out since most of them come without any grease even on upper models AXS EVO(my case)

Thanks a lot, Nikica! And thanks for a new tip as well!! I would also say that thread lock on bolts is kind of old and doesn't work as expected - I had multiple bolts which came out loose, and once I removed the bolts - stiff thread lock fall apart into pieces. Thus this should be not ignored and new thread lock to be added. On the other hand, bicycle is soo fundamentally simple, but everyone faces their-kind-of problems. I wonder why this is in such way though!

@tom10crafted

@@WeldyakPadyak Actually it seems that the problem is not in the bikes itself, but people! :) Simply because damaging doesn't happen in the blink of an eye - its a result of constant ignorance of "sounds" coming from the bike. Thus that is how these damages happens - not taking care of things and expecting that making expensive purchase enables to skip maintenance, haha!

For Race Face cranks better BB option is Ztto BB (two bearings on each side) than origional bb. Ztto lasts way longer and no crackling.

Thats interesting, thanks for sharing! The reason why I was not able to replace it 1:1, is because at the time no one in surrounding shops had anything with 30mm spindle and 41mm internal shell. On the other hand, Race Face cranks, while lightweight, are not well suited for full suspension bikes IF Garmin XC200 rally are used together. Even though I rode with it for months, it was constant hustle not to hit the pedals everywhere :D
@oskarsflymen
@oskarsflymen 2 жыл бұрын
@@tom10crafted yes, with Garmin xc200 you should be carefuly not to hit them. For Race Face cranks best PM will be power2max spider PM.
@tom10crafted
@tom10crafted 2 жыл бұрын
@@oskarsflymen for now I made a swap and put RF cranks with XC200 into Scale hardtail - the bottom clearance when without suspension is a lot better and less exposed! As for power2max - how chainrings are then fitted on it? I assume spider added on original spindle crank and there is no space left for direct chainring mount? Curious!
@oskarsflymen

@@tom10crafted yes, you need new 104bcd chainring which fits on P2M PM.

I have a question on the cranks you are using. Is it the version with 55mm chainline or the standard original 52 shimano chainline? What is the serial number of the crank?
@tom10crafted
@tom10crafted Ай бұрын
The story with those cranks goes as follows - first, I installed them by accident, from a need. Its 52mm. When I wanted XTR's, I contacted stages to ask whether they support 55mm. They granted that even pro team rode with them, thus that was enough of convincing to me, haha. its 8120 and currently I own 9120 - thus both are not 55mm
@filiprozycki5431
@filiprozycki5431 Ай бұрын
@ from what i read online 8120 have 55mm chainline. Are you sure they are 52? Did you need to make any modifications such as 0 offset chainrings or extra washer on the driveside?
@tom10crafted
@tom10crafted Ай бұрын
@@filiprozycki5431 I can't tell you 100%, but the REAL 55mm is FC-M9125-1, which was released in 2023 if I remember correctly (at least that is what I found out and Stages support told me this too) www.bike-discount.de/en/shimano-xtr-fc-m9125-1-12-speed-crank-without-chainring I did not needed any additional spacers from what was provided in the package. Worth noting - XT and XTR's built different. But on both on drive side there is a washer

Hi! Just curious how you find sizing. At 1.7m I feel like a small is quite tight but medium I see people taller than me riding…thanks!!
@tom10crafted
@tom10crafted 7 ай бұрын
Hey, it all depends, but for 1.70m you will find S too small IMO. You can take two things into consideration - how comfy you feel on the ground, in other words if top-tube does not reach in-between the legs, and in general is the base if not too long:)

Hello, I have a question. I have a Spark 2023 size large too. I came out of a specialized epic, and everything seems new to me. My Spark came with a 70mm -10 handlebar too. I have a slight feeling that it is short. I wanted to know If you had the same feeling, what do you think of the new handlebar? It got better. Another thing I have a question about is: what is your height and weight? I'm having a little trouble with the SAG. How many percent do you use on the front and rear shox?
@tom10crafted
@tom10crafted Жыл бұрын
Hey Samuel, what is your height? I added -20 degrees with 10cm, and it improved the feeling significantly - it kind of affected handling slightly, but its fine. I am 185cm in height. Actually, it would be interesting to test -30 and a but shorted than 10cm:) As for the suspension, i am 1.85/82kgs and for fork - I adjust suspension by feeling (as there is one extra token added, thus pressure is optional) For rear, I keep it around 25% sag, with 180-185PSI.

Hi, nice review! One quick question - what is your tyres width - 2,25 or 2,35? I am asking for Racing Ray and Racing Ralph. Thank you in advance!
@tom10crafted
@tom10crafted 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Ivelin, thanks! While these are 2.25, it’s very important to also take into account rim’s internal width. Scope Offroad model has 24.5mm - thus 2.25 of Rays/Ralphs tyres are good for rolling and dry conditions. Whenever it gets technical or wet I prefer something more robust for front on these rims - either more rubber or wider width🤞🏻
@ivelinkralev1471
@ivelinkralev1471 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the response! In wet and mud conditions, which tyres are you recommending?
@tom10crafted
@tom10crafted 2 жыл бұрын
@@ivelinkralev1471 To be honest I didn't find tyres which would suit me well in such conditions! The thing is you always try on trial and error basis, and there are a lot of conditions into equation - tyres pressure, rain/mud ratio, etc. But a rule of thumb anything which has less dense knobs on the center. Rocket Ron's from Schwalbe is somewhat OK choice. Its also important what race type it is - you don't want to add heavy tyres if its marathon.. Thus its always thin line of choices! :D

@@tom10craftedo you choose handlebar according to bikefitting ? I like extended possition, Spark is very short for me. 9cm -30 is shorter than 9cm -20 in the end.
@tom10crafted
@tom10crafted 2 жыл бұрын
@@filipvonsak9350 yes, at first original fraser XC felt too close and I had issues with the back (as being too close just arches you). Then after bikefitting we figured out its too close for me indeed. While -30 could have worked as well I guess, I didn't wanted to risk putting too much tension on the wrists - as it makes really aggressive position. You are right that 9cm -30 is going to be shorter in horizontal distance than 9cm -20. But apart from that, being lower kind of still increases the reach distance, just in a different way
