Wow, how wonderful to see this. It's so rare to find footage from Scott from this period. Majestic, other-wordly voice, mastered to perfection. This clip makes me cringe a little, though; knowing how reclusive he was, he must have felt terribly uncomfortable. Love the shy smile at the end; it just screams 'let me outta here'!

guidofski, hi, are you still kicking? We miss you. Much appreciation for your stint as the unofficial-but-competent curator of all-things-Scott Walker for a while. I just came across this rare guidofski comment on another's post and i wondered how you are.

I have gotten copies of most of these DVDs you speak of for free, and that's why I have tried to share what is not out on youtube, hopefully to dissuade folks from buying from "bootleggers". I doubt an official compilation of such footage would ever become available, so if it can be shared freely, so much the better. Rant over: wow! this is great footage that I have never seen! I wonder if there is more out there? Surely SOMEBODY in the world has video of the Scott Walker Show from the BBC!!

That looks like John (Maus) Walker, between those two girls. I'm surprised nobody else has noticed. I don't know when Scott stopped making live appearances, but I saw him in Liverpool in 1974. The audience wanted more, and he demanded a standing ovation... ...which he didn't get! For donkey's years I thought I was the only person who liked him. I've still got all his LP's.

+Artemisiainspain I'm sure it's John. Apart from the fact he's about the only man in the audience, the camera keeps focusing on him.

Definitely, it is not John Maus in the background. John was so much more good looking than that and more so than any of the Walker Brothers.

From what he says in the documentary about him, he was quite out of it during this era of his career (late 70 until 76. lot's of drinking and whatnot). Wasn't until Nite Flights that he was inspired to write songs again (even though the Walker Brothers did make 2 albums prior to that one.). Amazing talent and i am super excited that he is releasing a new album this year.

Anyone looking for Scott dvd's should be aware that there are no official dvds they are all bootleg ,despite what anyone might tell you. There are a lot of people out there selling poor quality videos and dvd's with compilations of Scott and the Walker Brothers. A lot of these are interesting, but it really annoys me that people make money from them, they own no copyright and no royalties go to the artists or the filmmakers at the time.

Perhaps you're a captive of popular culture. While this music doesn't have the mass audience it once did. Streisand, Tony Bennett, and others have done well contiinuing in this style over the succeeding 40 years. Not to mention the royalties flowing into the Sinatra estate. Newcomers Michael Buble and Diana Krall likely weren't even born when Walker performed this. I don't follow "gives me the creeps". It's not The Twilight Zone theme. BTW...Henry Mancini is never out of style

How interesting, a personal friend of SW. Well, you must be to make such a BOLD statement ("AND HE IS NOT GAY!!"). As you're so pally, could you tell us his reactions to criticism of his current work. Criticism such as... Engel's "MUSICAL GENIUS" is stranded in time; somewhere in a 1970 Bayswater loft. The pompous tedium of 'The Drift' may work "in a room full of tone deaf cretins" but devotees of his perfectly formed 60's masterworks may weep... or giggle. Did he react badly or... agree?
