Magnificent story teller! Never in a million years would I have imagined Tong Po to be this charismatic person on Michel Qissi lol, all his stories are new to me, so cool to hear what REALLY went down on the Predator set.

Had the privilege of attending a seminar that Michel did in Wimbledon, of all places, back in about 1995 or 96. Was teaching about cinema combat and got us doing g some choreography. Seriously nice guy.

Adkins has undoubtedly blessed us with many great interviews but this is hands down my favorite. Qissi tells a story worth being a movie itself. He's so alive in his story telling. I hope JC follows suit and comes to the show. This episode was a piece of history for the fans.

Sounds like Qissi was the one who pushed all the doors for JCVD to succeed. After they have had their falling out, you can tell JCVDs career went down the rudder. That's freaking Tong Po right there. The scariest looking villain of that genre.

Around 30 years ago, my uncle told me during the movie with JCVD and Michel (Lionheart), that they are actually very good friends, despite that scene when they were fighting with eachother. I don't know how he knew that, in what way such detailed info got out withought the internet back then.

I was obsessed with kickboxing as a youth I genuinely thought tong po was real due to the end credits in the film it says tong po played himself weirdly. He was a terrorfying character when your watching an 18 film as a 12 year old lol. As always Scott your phenomenal looking forward to this.

yea that rocked us all to our core. i finally decades later meaning recently, finally found on the wiki page for bloodsport...the truth. even my brother kept saying i was wrong and i was like 'look man, i can see it now and I read it, its real. tong po is not only not real he is the guy with the flat top runnin around with ghost dog lol'

Great guest, legend Muhamed Michel Qissi (Tong Po). He was just like brother to Jean Claude, not just a friend. Interesting story, especially elevator and way he talks about these interestin moments. This guy is still involved in some projects, and also he'll have a exbition fight with Don The Dragon in the near future. BR

i wish you would have asked more about no retreat no surrender ... iv seen loads of interviews with mr qissi and nobody ever asks him for details of the experience of the fight scenes and what happened on the set ... to me no retreat no surrender would have been a huge deal at that time , i mean to go from dancing in the background of Breakin to getting the role of the main bad guy who by the way has the best fight scenes in the whole movie and then to see the finished film in theatre must have been epic

His transformation in films are fantastic. You wouldnt know he was the kick boxer in bloodsport to tong po and he was totally different in AWOL/Lion Heart as military police officer.
