Tong Po, was and still is in my opinion the best coolest / baddy. Tong Po had the best introductory of a baddy. Hearing those thuds as he kicked that pillar (off screen), then seeing him do it, then seeing his face and the reaction on Kurt's face as he kick the pillar more. Bloodsport, Kickboxer and A.W.O.L (Lionheart) are my best 3 films of all time. Watched those film's more than i can count. It's great to hear Mohammed Qissi's interesting stories of the past from his and Jean Claud's life and from the movies.

I love how Scott said he was going to cut some parts down, but allowed Mohammad to keep talking. And Scott uploaded all of the interview. What a guy. Tong Po. What a timelessly most terrifying villain in any action/karate movie. Wishing Tong Po/Mohammed Qissi a happy fulfilling life for the coming days.

Thanks Scott and special thanks to Qissi and Tong Po. 😊 I suspect Scotts adoration for that movie and character is same as mine. I was maybe 10 years old in early 91 and started Taekwondo because I seen kickboxer and Bloodsport. We didnt have the money so i wore sweatpants and t shirt and never got a belt before i dropped out after several months and a bloody nose later. But i dedicated myself to marrial arts thru my teens. The respect, the exercise, fitness, stretching. I got the Bruce Lee Tao of jkd book and made my friends do the exercises lol. I had to move away so my friend that went to that school told everyone there dont mess with me i know kung fu so it was easy lots of respect. Id do situps hanging from a bar on the tree out front play basketball, hike, best shape of my life etc etc. Eventually i stopped being so strict after becoming a young adult, work girlfriends etc but i kept stretching and kicking and ever since try to keep that mindset from my teens like be aware and dont bully anyone or show off and be respectful. I never got s black belt but i always took Bruce Lees saying to heart, belts are only for holding up your pants. I think true martial arts is a way of if life and your mental state. Doesnt matter whos better, we're all equal. Just like Mohammed, jcvd may have been the star but it takes everyone working together to make an impact. And those movies meant the world to me as a kid. ❤

I understand that, of course, that I can't compare Mr. Adkins with those actors completely, but that was really impressive! That reminded me Daniel Day Lewis in In the name of father and in Boxer or Tom Hardy in Legend, that reminded me the Oldboy by Park Chan Wuk. That reminded me Guy Ritchie films. I'm speechless. I used to resent this man as a kid, thinking he's the ultimate villain. In real life, it was the other way around. Jcvd was the real villain. Listening to Quissi's attention to detail after decades...he still remembers so much...And that humbleness! He puts modern day pseudo-fighters from Morocco to shame. Disrespectful mafia brawlers at most. Listening about his father and the real fight outside the ring...makes me realize how complex being a real fighter is. All my life, all Moroccans I saw, were the ultimate hooligans, a disgrace. I can't believe the difference. Clowns like badr Hari ain't got nothing on Quissi.

I remember that in those times when I was very young, and didn't know English, I was wondering, who is the actor, who played Tong Po. And when I red in titles: Tong Po - Himself, I just thought that Himself is a Thai name :)) And I was looking the guy with that name in titles in next movies.
