It ended because James Rolfe wanted it to end. It had a final episode, the story wrapped up and it was over. The reality is that KZbin doesn't pay very well. Unless you are just doing reaction videos. That's more likely why James doesn't have much time to work on KZbin stuff these days.
@ScottyDunn7 ай бұрын
KZbin Adsense is the least lucrative part. But it’s still substantial for a channel his size. It’s James’s full time career. Add sponsorships in and it makes a ton of sense.

It was best as a demented sitcom, not some sort of psychological thriller bullshit.

I can tell you got that image at 0:33 from CinemassacreTruth, bc Kieran is shown as a caveman. It's ok to criticize, even harshly or even just vent, but these guys are so obsessed, recycling and circlejerking jokes, can't get over a 40+ dear old man dealing more with his family. I'm no one to defend Screenwave or their produced content, but constantly using the people themselves as punching bags, especially after Kieran pretty much switched sides and called out all the shit that happened makes the hating feel unwarranted. We get it, grow up. It says more about them than Screenwave, just wanted to put that out.

I have said for years, im happy for james as a person and understand his real life stepping in. However if the content is not good, im not going to watch it. I do question how much work he really needs to put into AVGN with screenwave. Does he just film 3-4 hours a week, then lives his life with his family for the rest watching old monster movies? What exactly is he really doing now? We already know screenwave is doing most of the work now, even if the work they do sucks.

For the first few Years - Week after Week, I kept expecting for James to make an announcement that he Got a Job on a Movie or a TV Series and would be taking a long break from KZbin. I thought, "Surely - a studio somewhere will be contacting for a project?" But that never happened. I'm still a little baffled by that...!!
@PigeonPlucker4 ай бұрын
He actually did (sort of). He had a 'role' within a 7th Guest based mini-series. However, despite filming apparently being completed and edited they couldn't find a buyer for it. It's current status is vague at best, but most assume that it will never be released meaning that we'll never know what James' involvement exactly was. Back to the series though, there are at best two theories; Trilobyte games wanted residuals which were never tabled by the offers; It was so awful nobody wanted to buy it.
@xtraflo4 ай бұрын
@@PigeonPlucker Nah, not even something like that. I'm suggesting that a Studio like Fox or something hiring him to help on a Crew! Nothing like that ever happened..
@PigeonPlucker6 ай бұрын
I think James and Mike Monday's started out with good intentions, but it became clear pretty quickly that James had very little interest in gaming beyond casual fun. - The elephant in the room you don't mention though is some of the bad shit crazy stuff Mike started posting when in charge of the Cinnemassacre channel. I don't think it's much of a coincidence that their involvement together started phasing out at that point. Mike clearly thought he was just being the semi-edgelords the channel HAD represented whereas James was clearly terrified that Mike was about to set him up for a Ghostbusters 2016 moment. It hard to deny that while the language is still colourful, AVGN has been in a slow decline as it mills towards more of a PG-13 mediocrity. TBH I think James only makes KZbin content these days for the ExpressVPN money. The hardcore fans accepting that AVGN is basically dying though is less likely than James admitting he's gone bald.

Do they state why it got age restricted? Or did you already know what to fix?
@ScottyDunn7 ай бұрын
They were vague about it and didn’t really explain. So I read up on some content guidelines and made the edits based on those. They weren’t huge edits but I can see what they were referring to. Some of the Board James clips I used had some content that they interpreted as inappropriate. I was surprised but the new edits didn’t effect the video quality in the long run.
