It was easy for him to succeed at MSU in 2021. He could throw to Reed and Nailor or hand the ball off to Kenneth Walker. Once those guys were gone, all that was left was a mediocre QB.

As an auburn fan who has watched every game he has played, he’s not a terrible quarterback. The problem is he makes terrible decisions and also freezes when he’s hit with pressure. When he plays cupcake opponents he looks like cam newton out there, but when he’s faced with a little challenge he chokes, he really was not ready to play in the sec and never developed like he should.

Payton Thorne was a lackluster QB since the 2022 season. Idk how he was a top QB in the portal during the time he entered. Auburn standard is to be elite, or their fanbase will run people out of town. Thorne at Auburn was mediocre at best.
