The more I see you use the quiet boxes the more I think I'm needing to add some to my plans

They are one of the best tools I use. Just make sure if you build them that they are deep enough to have a swarm cell at the bottom and not damage it. An old video on making a quite box kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5DKXoJ-qN6ZeLM

Boy, that was a lot of excitement!! Did all the queens get mated? So then you have a bunch of nucs this year and a lot of production hives. Scott may have to sell/give away some bees the way it looks. Did you get a good honey crop overall last year?

An the bad thing about it she is a great laying queen with Beautiful full sheets of brood . It would really be bad to lose her in the tallest tree with in ten miles around you is what would happen or it does for me . All tho in the last three or four years I do not think I have had but around three swarms I think. BUT i saw the largest swarm I have ever saw of mine going over the tops of the trees just as fast as they could go an that swarm looked like it had to be ever bit of ten pounds but I was just to slow getting my stuff put in my truck. Good luck with that one . Thanks

"she is a great laying queen with Beautiful full sheets of brood "..I still have her and I may graft from her this year, as you say she was laying great. " i saw the largest swarm I have ever saw of mine going over the tops of the trees "...always sad, I have seen a few do that too. "I was just to slow getting my stuff put in my truck"..We can't always be at home to see them or be fast enough to get them, So I have several bait hives set up to (try) and catch them for me. Thanks for Watching. Scott

You're a busy man lol! I see now how people end up with more hives than they have fingers lol. What is that material you're using on the quite blankets? I'll watch the video you linked regarding the quite box build.

"I see now how people end up with more hives than they have fingers"...It can be a real problem...LOL....but a good one to have "What is that material you're using on the quite blankets? "...It's just a vinyl, similar to motorcycle seats

ok! NOW.... part 5? I so enjoyed your despair about having too many colonies.... Oh, that I had that [problem. Are there other convenient beekeepers who can adopt from you? I had a strain of bees a couple of years back that now has spread far and wide in my old area. Up here in my new location.... it;s crickets and tumble weeds. Also the Snelgrove is supposed to stop that sort of problem you are having....

" I so enjoyed your despair about having too many colonies."...At the time I had been have one hell of a week and the colony number was climbing fast...LOL "Also the Snelgrove is supposed to stop that sort of problem you are having"....Yes Hive 15 & 8 both made cells in the bottom but I caught them before they swarmed Hive 3 & 17 both had Snelgrove boards and they work good, the deference was younger queens and more space in the bottom. I will talk about what I think I did wrong and what I will do this year in a later video. Thanks George. Scott

Do you used any bait with your swarm boxes? How many will you set out this year?
@BeekeepinginNorthernOntario11 ай бұрын
"Do you used any bait with your swarm boxes?" not to often but if I do I use lemon grass oil. "How many will you set out this year?"...I leave mine up all year,...I think I have a bout 12, all with in about 1/2 mile of my bee yard, I keep them all on my land so no problem with other land owners. The fact that they are up year round is why I don't use much bait. Just old brood frames mixed with new foundation. I thought I should add that I don't think that there are any feral colonies here. I am putting bait hives up for my swarms and perhaps one neighbor that has bees. Thanks Scott
