great tip on how to adjust and loosen the part where you rest your legs on... I always help so many people on that machine to get the screw to loosen up!!!!

I use this machine rarely when the leg curl is full. I went to a new gym today and couldnt get parts to adjust (old rusty machine). Glad to see I "tried" everything right, expect for the trick in this video... good stuff.

Thank you for this video. I was using the machine for the first time and I didn't know how to set it up properly, and it caused a very uncomfortable feeling on my legs. This video helped me fix it perfectly ^^

Adjust backpad to where your knees are at the pivot point of machine (slightly in front of seat) Adjust ankle pad to sit right under your ankle Keep feet neutral & relaxed (straight) Adjust thigh pad as tight as you can possibly place it, gripping the bars Contract hamstrings as you tug down, breathing out on push & breathing in on stretch

Thanks for that trick you do with your hands! I keep sliding forward on the seat now that my weights have been increasing. I'll try this method next time I'm at the gym.

Thank god. I finally dont scoot foward while I do this exersice. I think it had to do with the pivot point of the machine not being inline with my knee

What’s the average weight I should do at the gym? I’m only 13, but I’m able to do 130lb-150lb without much problems, I’d just like a bit of advice on that because it sounds like a lot 😅

Yeah if I curl my leg too far back I get a cramp in my hamstring and I look like a dumbass trying to get rid of it

My gym only has Precor`s seated leg curl machine and with its ROM adjuster at position 6, i cant get full stretch and weight stack hits other plates. I`m just 6 feet guy so what i can do?

Knee in line with pivot. Rest should be as tight as possible. Pad should end at the top of your shoe. ROM depending on flexibility.

Thanks for the tip. I could never understand why they don't provide a seat belt on these machines to stop your butt from sliding forward when you're using a half-decent weight. The handles don't help!

He should have just said - never ever do this exercise. I’ve watched many experts giving this machine a thumbs down due to pressure on the knee joint.

Every movement has its pros and cons. If it’s not for you that’s fine but for a lot of people it’s really effective for training hamstrings without causing knee issues.

At my gym, the seat moves backwards and dowm suddenly. Only happens when you go heavy. I do the full rack but that can cause serious injury. Definitely not made correctly or its messed up. Unless I'm doing something wrong.

To be honest. I didn't have my seat far enough forward. I found another one at the gym on a different floor that allows you to adjust the lower pad like in this video. That's made all the difference

If your toes are pointed up like he said then your calves are heavily involved in the exercise. Pointing your toes will put more of the tension on your hamstrings.

Instructions are a great thing, but you also need decent equipment... the machine I use does not have half those adjustments, and the weight only goes as far as 150lb.

Nope, leg extensions are pretty much the opposite of these, start with your legs bent then straighten them.
