I use this machine rarely when the leg curl is full. I went to a new gym today and couldnt get parts to adjust (old rusty machine). Glad to see I "tried" everything right, expect for the trick in this video... good stuff.

Adjust backpad to where your knees are at the pivot point of machine (slightly in front of seat) Adjust ankle pad to sit right under your ankle Keep feet neutral & relaxed (straight) Adjust thigh pad as tight as you can possibly place it, gripping the bars Contract hamstrings as you tug down, breathing out on push & breathing in on stretch

Knee in line with pivot. Rest should be as tight as possible. Pad should end at the top of your shoe. ROM depending on flexibility.

At my gym, the seat moves backwards and dowm suddenly. Only happens when you go heavy. I do the full rack but that can cause serious injury. Definitely not made correctly or its messed up. Unless I'm doing something wrong.

If your toes are pointed up like he said then your calves are heavily involved in the exercise. Pointing your toes will put more of the tension on your hamstrings.
