I've reached the point where I just can't handle any more dishonest advice from the people YOU put your trust in and give YOUR hard earned money to. A course correction is needed and these "fitness personalities" need to be held accountable for their actions.
Whether you want to believe it or not, when you put your BS "advice" online, you're impacting the lives of others. Even if just ONE person implements that terrible advice into their training, that's still too much.

@@ScottHermanFitness Hey man, ironic you just released this video. I am a beginner myself, I have been weightlifting for 7 months now. I just came back from my push day. I usually do 3 chest excersices, 3 shoulders excersices and then triceps pushdowns. However, I never liked the feeling of pushdowns. They just don't work that well for me. Something struck me. I took a big dumbell and I just did the movement you explained in this video. I felt my triceps working really hard and I was exhausted after this.

I started lifting about 3 years ago, and luckily you were one of the first fitness channels I came across. I remember an early video i watched about dumbbell flys, and it was about how so many trainers say "just never do these, they're bad for your shoulders". In it you described how to properly disengage your shoulders so that you can do them safely and properly and it solved the shoulder pain they caused me (obviously). I have been so grateful to have you as a tool to learn ever since, and still learn new things from you all the time.

@@briandrose I think they just ditch proper form in their search to lift more weight. As it is a booster for their own ego. Lifting with proper form require a lot of disipline. When I started to lift I my form was not the best as I just wanted to lift as much as I could. I was quite hard to get rid of all my bad lifting habits. As the weight I could lift went down quite. I am a Newby!! Thank you. I started on January 06, 2019. I haven’t gained much muscles. I have lost 19 libras so far. I have waistline, and my big arms are not that fat, I gained some muscle on my biceps and legs. The hubby was mad at first he said that I would look bulky and ugly, but I was already ugly... I don’t worried I about that anymore. Neither about getting bulky: I want to gain muscles, but still looking feminine, not like a man. I don’t care about other women who might disagree with my choice. It’s my body. I’m doing everything slowly, but surely. I learn from all people in KZbin. I don’t have money for a personal trainer or GYM. I have a home GYM that I’m building little by little. Thank you for your videos.
@ScottHermanFitness

Don't worry too much about getting 'too bulky'. Women, generally, don't have the testosterone levels to end up looking 'manly'. But also, if you are losing weight, you must be in a deficit, so while you can gain muscle as a newbie, you won't be gaining too much. Keep up the great work!

While their trainer is off to flirting with girls, the trainee is doing it wrong because that's what they were told to do so. Thanks to you Scott, i jumped in and helped them with proper form and ROM. Even when i started body building i wasn't immune to bad advice. After tons of videos and research, the weight lifting gods took pity on me, and sent me to your direction LOL.

3 years ago I started following Scott, I also watched other KZbin fitness people. Scott is the only one who not only tells you WHAT work out to do, but he breaks down the form and the reason why you need to MAXIMIZE the movement. He educates more than anything and that’s what I appreciate. I also started thinking about steroids and on that day Scott had released a video on steroids and their harm. I fucking love these videos, you can see that Scott is honest and knows his shit and more importantly he actually cares about his community and those that are being mislead. scott your a fucking legend, in my opinion your are the best fitness youtuber on this platform, because you actually do your research and your homework about the bodys anatomy when all the other fake ass youtubers are only taking roids and havent learned shit about fitness. i remember i started doing squats and deadlifts and i always listen to you and my brother but most of the work you have done, so im thankful for teaching me everything all i need to know about fitness. btw im a 15 year old teen who started working out about a year and a half ago i weighted about 39 kilo and now im 53 kilo i can squat 65 kilo and deadlift 80 kilo in addition i can curl a 15 kilo dumbbell but my bench game is a bit weak i can press only 55 kilo all thanks to you... i hope you read this and man god bless you

damn, you can tell he's pissed. I appreciate how hard he comes down on this garbage and how he won't tolerate bullshit. I don't agree with all of Scot's training advice, but he just earned my respect, big time. this is something all trainees who know what they're doing find an utter disgrace, and we should all do our best to fight this bullshit, I, like many of you have wasted years of my training career doing ineffective bullshit all thanks to these fake natties, and I commend Scot for using his platform (a large one at that) to fight off these no god people who will never make a good trainee out of anyone! its truly a shame how good they look and how many young lads like myself once and possibly you they attract. Preposterous. This is the biggest problem with online fitness

Thanks for the kind post my friend. And for the record. I dont expect everyone to agree with everything I say. In fact, its when people dont agree with me that drives me to come up with more solutions or new techniques so I can do my best to help everyone. But at the end of the day there is a basic knowledge base of information that is good and bad and there seems to be a lot more BAD lately. Thanks again and have a great week!

I was seeing an Exercise physiologist for three years to help with my back and knees and skating. This last year I started training more intense, up to six days a week. I got ducked into the rabbit hole of all this garbage on KZbin. Before even considering a new exercise or shift in my program I ask her. Especially for correct technique. I started doing deadlifts nearly three years ago with a broom handle to master the technique. Glad I had a professional to mentor through this. Thanks for your no bullshit advice a videos Scott.

One thing that blew up my arms was very high volume tricep exercises. 3 - 4 times a week, 3 - 4 exercises, mixing heavy with light weight high reps. Heavy dips and chins being the bread and butter.
@William_R_Wight
@William_R_Wight 5 жыл бұрын
Heavy dips and chins are my go to arm exercises. I worry sometimes that I'm missing out on some gains I could get from doing more isolation exercises, but so far the results are speaking for themselves.
@ronl9357
@ronl9357 5 жыл бұрын
@@William_R_Wight After dips and chins, I'll work on very high volume isolation exercises for biceps and triceps. 15 - 20 sets each muscle group. You will see extreme results in as little as 1 week. Of course, keep in mind good nutrition and plenty of rest and sleep.

I love videos like this, before I followed you I was doing like 4-5 exercises for each muscle group, over time limited the exercises and just do 2-3 exercises max higher volume and reps. I've noticed bigger gains and better definition. (BTW some of the other programs I have seen do like 3 sets and it gets annoying to see most of the time). I'm still seeing gains as you said it is tapering but staying natural is my goal, pushing myself harder pays off, might take longer but overall I'm happy how I'm progressing. Though I started barbell bench press again found why my shoulder has been aggravated by it (arms not far enough apart, I used to only feel it in my triceps and shoulders). I would like to see more videos like this every now and then (especially misconceptions and wrong advice that can be dangerous or ineffective). Keep up the awesome work.

@@ScottHermanFitness things have to be said, and the advice ive gotten from you has helped out a ton. you have people giving false promises, bad advice (information as well), and some of that can injure people which would turn them away. i think that is what is making it worse and worse, working hard and giving the most information is key (proper information like what you give out)

Admire that you are happy with the level of muscle you have built and indeed have never really seen you out of shape. We all know how much weight you can move, we have seen it. Im not sure how this turned into Scott Vs. Jeff. I love both and follow both. I started out following Jeff and doing so helped me fix my back problems, which has allowed me to go harder in training. However, I also like Scott. I feel like Scott's workouts and look is more Achievable with a busy work/life schedule. Both have made eating more manageable in that you learn what your macros look like on the plate and you don't have to really go crazy counting everything you eat.

Love that Scott had the guts to call it like it is. People who work out, and real athlete, can spot someone on gear just by looking at them. So many tells. Or when a person makes these ridiculous gains in a super short amount of time... "Genetics guys, don't be jealous". Okaaaay believe you. Personally know a fitness "Expert" that started a channel myself, don't know crap about working out and fitness. Regurgitates what sounds right, on the gear... and people eat it up who don't know better because they LOOK the part. It's fraudulent honestly, immoral you are lying to people, and just shady when you are selling plans. Props to you Scott... been following you for years Man. Super down to Earth, real, and you know your stuff.
