“I can remember this time in, I think, 1990 when Scottie decided to challenge Michael one day in practice,” Hodges told The Washington Post. “Michael kind of backed up for a half-second. Then he proceeded, literally, to score on Scottie at will. It was incredible. I mean, Scottie Pippen even then was one of the best players in the league and Michael just rained points on him. Scottie had to step back and say, ‘Slow up, man.'”

No cap who else during the pandemic would drop a doc that all the world watched and commented on it and a full year later people are still talking about it and MJ himself hasn't said anything about it since the obrigatory promotion. It was an interesting and insightful story about one of the must dominating team of the 90, that let so many people shine from Tony Kucoc to Steve kerr, from where they came from to how they deal with MJ in the locker room and how hard it was to get close to someone that transcends the sports as a whole. MJ had everything and still the man was so isolated from the rest of the world and players cause no one could relate to him just a few like Magic, Bird, and what happens to a man who winning is everything when that victory doesn't bring happiness anymore, dealing with drug dealers in gambling chasing that high, the addition it became and he still refused to see it as such, was a brilliant doc and I don't know what Pipen saw but it's sad that after 6 rings hall of fame career all he took from it was bitterness against MJ.

Why don’t you show us the data breakdown of Magic’s career stats facing the Bulls when he was guarded by MJ vs Pippen, and tell us how exactly did he destroy Jordan? Only If Magic’s Offensive output (scoring, assists, offensive rebounding, field goal %) while being guarded by Jordan in the playoffs was much higher than his offensive output in the playoffs against Pippen or any other Bulls players who guarded him, would validate your claim to be true! @Michael Davis This actually is a false narrative that a lot of people run with because Pippen did guard Magic very well in game 2. And for anyone that's not convinced, Michael Jordan's career offensive rebound average is 1.6 rpg, Lebron James career offensive rebound is at 1.2 rpg right now. So when Scottie compared MJ not having the whole package compared to Lebron is BS. And MJ is a guard compared to LBJ a forward. Defensive rebounds are way easier to get, teams rarely even contest it because they'd rather get back to defense. Michael Jordan, in a game where he had his career high 60 points, had 18 rebounds to go along with it, and 7 oreb. Michael Jordan is the only player outside of Magic Johnson to average 11+ APG in a final series. Anyone acting like MJ wasn't the total package just haven't done their research.

MJ learned really early that when he had a bad team, it was all up to him. From 84-88 they had losing seasons. Orlando Woolridge was the other “top” player. It wasn’t until the addition of Paxson 86, Pippen and Horace Grant in 87-88, they actually had a playoff team. By that time MJ was used to carrying the team. It wasn’t until the 90’s that he started having to share the rock.

The first evidence is how he embarrassed himself because Phil gave the ball to Toni Kukoc and he hit the buzzer-beater in 94 and he still bitches about it going as far as calling Phil Jackson a racist because he was trying to win a playoff game! He played the race card and he lost because Toni hit that shot, so he doesn't have a leg to stand on! How low are you gonna stoop Scottie Pippen to sell a book and some bourbon? Even if you come around, your legacy and your image are tarnished forever!

@@Mavsman1177 Let me educate you a little bit son. Jordan hit that shot that gave North Carolina the NCAA title in 1982, five years before Scottie was drafted. Pippen was a nobody in the NCAA. Jordan led the US team to an Olympic gold medal in 84, three years before Scottie Pippen was drafted and six years before he became an all-star. There's also a video of Bobby Knight literally saying that Michael Jordan was gonna be the GOAT, while he was coaching the 84 US team! KZbin it! Google everything that I say in this comment and in the previous one as well! FACTS, FACTS, FACTS! FACTS OVER EMOTIONS! Michael Jordan was an all-star starter as a rookie, while Pippen had to wait for three years. Michael Jordan led the league in total points in 84 as a rookie. Led the league in scoring and in steals multiple times until Scottie became an all-star in 1990. Was dunk champ in 87 and 88, all-star-game MVP in Chicago, while Pippen was still developing. I mean even Charles Oakley punked Scottie Pippen by slapping him around! Nobody has done that to Jordan! Look at what he did to the Cavaliers in the 88 and in the 89 playoffs when he was averaging 45 points against them, while Scottie Pippen was still developing!! The Bad Boy Detroit Pistons, who may be the dirtiest team ever, using their rough-and-tumble, MMA style of play to win 2 championships in a row, devised the Jordan rules after he led the Bulls to victories against by dropping 61 and 59 points against them! Again, before Scottie Pippen became an all-star! How about this? The Bulls won the 91 and the 98 championships with Jordan as the only all-star! Very few players have managed to do that and Scottie ain't one of them! How about this? They both got 6 rings playing with each other but Jordan got all 6 finals MVPs! And Scottie Pippen is complaining about a bunch of nonsense when it's fully documented that Jordan appreciated Scottie! In his HOF induction when he thanked Pip first is just one example! How about when Jordan said that Pippen can get the car while he (Jordan) would keep the finals MVP trophy? Everything that I've said is documented! For example, KZbin "proof the Scottie Pippen is a bxxx (I don't like using profanity, because I'm not a Michael Jordan worshipper, I'm not an idolater, I'm a Born-Again-Christian, so only worship the Holy Trinity). Now getting back to Scottie Pippen is an all-time great but he was Robin to Jordan's Batman! Pippen, as great as he was, on defense, was never the DPOY. Jordan was in 88. He never led the league in scoring, while Jordan did it a record 10 times! Plus, Jordan is one of the very few athletes to have won championships, retire, and come back to reclaim their thrown! The other two athletes, that I can think of that have done that are Muhammad Ali (technically he hadn't retired, but he was inactive from 1967-70 because he boycotted the Vietnam War) and George Foreman! I could even write you a thesis about this topic, to educate you, but I just decided to write just an abstract! The evidence is so overwhelming that you don't have a leg to stand on! KZbin and google every single thing that I've said! It's documented! Watch Bulls' games on KZbin, watch The Last Dance, watch documentaries, highlights, what other great players and great coaches, GM's, etc say about Jordan and Pippen especially, now recently, after Scottie Pippen just went crazy to sell his book Unguarded, and to sell Bourbon! In the NBA's dog-eat-dog world, he decided to try to throw Michael Jordan and Phil Jackson, under the bus, now that he's trying to sell his book and his bourbon! But that gave us another argument of why Jordan is basketball's goat! He carried Pippen's toxic, jealous self to a 6 and 0 finals record! And there's a statue of Michael Jordan outside of the United Center! There's not a statue of Scottie Pippen! Peace! Over and out!

Pippen as an individual doesn't belong in the same league as most of the best duos in the history of the NBA. MJ makes Pippen relevant because as a duo they're the best duo of All-time, but his resume and legacy as an individual doesn't stand a chance against Magic or Kareem, Shaq or Kobe, LeBron or Wade, Wilt or Jerry West, KD or Steph Curry etc. All those guys resume are greater than Scottie's. I just hope Pippen understand nothing he says will ever rewrite history. Jordan's legacy will not be tainted because of anything that Pippen can say. Jordan is not only better at basketball than Pippen, he's also richer, happier and better at life than Pippen. MJ ain't losing any bit of sleep because of anything Pippen says I can promise you that.

Basketball is better for having those great championship teams because even if you didn't like the Bulls, you would be watching either way. I am just dumbfounded as to why he is attacking Jordan now after so many years, just to sell more books. It's funny that Chris brings up a hypothetical 1v1 from a teammate's perspective of Jordan and Pippen cuz that actually used to happen quite a bit. According to Craig Hodges, MJ used to absolutely annihilate Pip in 1v1 in the early 90s. It actually amazed Hodges too cuz he said Pip was probably the best on ball defender in the game at the time and MJ would absolutely destroy him to the point that Scottie would have to quit. I don't remember the exact quote but I've seen it multiple times.
