Scottish Artist Norman Gilbert, BBC Scope Full documentary 1974.

Documentary film made and directed by the Scottish arts writer and playwright, the late W. Gordon Smith as part of his series for the BBC entitled"Scope". This film focuses on the life and work of Scottish,Trinidad born artist Norman Gilbert, who has lived and painted in Glasgow, Scotland, for the past 70 years. (www.normangilbert.com). Included in the film are his family including 3 of his 4 sons, Bruno, Danny and Mark (aged 4) and Normans late wife Pat. Hi Mark, thank you so much for posting this wonderful Scope film and great to see W Gordon Smith in action. I'm sure I saw it on TV at the time as some of the pictures were familiar. I thought Norman was very open and honest in his replies as well as being self-effacing. I then saw the film you'd posted of him talking about drawing Pat in her hospital bed - which he rightly said were something he enjoyed having - as a memory - as Pat felt the pictures of the children were great as memories. Thanks again.
