The bombarde has been played with the pib mor in Brittany since 1944, and altered to fit.

1995 my parents took me on holiday to Brittany and the sound of the tape albums they bought to play in the car - Horizons Celtique, Breizh!, etc - have always stayed with me. The sound of the Breton pipes has always struck me as incredibly powerful - even more than Scottish Bagpipes which I was able to play reasonably well as a kid.
