Thanks Jeff . I knew what a wanted to do 5 years ago but didn't know how to do it. Living in the Midlands , nowhere near the sea , I had no one to ask. Then I watched one of his first videos 'into the wilderness... from that moment I've been hooked. He's been a great help and always answered my emails with great advice. Hopefully around the Skerries at Arisaig in August or if the conditions aren't favourable I'll drop on loch shiel. Looking forward to Donnies video of your trip. Thanks

Just as Donny inspired you, it was this very video that inspired us to visit Loch Etive. We genuinely didn’t remember though from your video where you camped. We kind of stumbled upon a spot in the dark after a few failed attempts and pitched our tent at about 3am. Now that we are home I can see we pretty much ended up camping in the exact same spot you guys did, completely by chance! Will you ever be visiting Loch Etive again at some point with your SIB? I notice you now have an Excel, we do too!

Great video and what a bonus for you both to meet Donny, he did not put the idea in my head to buy a S.I.B but certainly gave the love for it. After watching Donny’s Loch Shiel some time back he made me feel a sense of guilt to what people do after the Bell of ST Finnans isle was stolen after being there for 300 years I looked up the type bell and thought if I ever go there I would replace it. No not one of 300 years but a similar one for sign of respect for the dead and of the people who live in the area. Always give something back when you take something away is my motto even if those things are memories. My next question how waterproof is your tent? I’m looking for a 3 man tent just for myself for such places that is easy to put up but very weather proof. Love your video’s I only wish I got into this when my son was at that age of you to. Thanks for sharing Ray K UK 🇬🇧 YNWA.

Hi John Thanks for the kind words. It makes it all worth while. We use transom wheels and pull the boat up onto the dry land. Some of the more experienced lads will anchor the boat but I'm worried I'll wake up and it will be gone:) In put the seats in myself. Brilliant Stephen! Great father-son time! Is/was your Bison a 13ft one? Do you know the weight of the outboard? I have a 13ft and looking to get a 2 stroke outboard. I know it is officially rated for 25hp but doesn't really say if a 2 or 4 stroke. As far as I know, there's a massive weight difference between them. Any pointers would be much appreciated. Cheers
@pr1tch13 жыл бұрын
Hi Mine was a 3.9m so it's 12ft . I'm sure it's a 4 stroke regarding the weight so a 2 stroke 25hp wouldn't be a problem. My 4 stroke 20hp is about 54kg and I would also sometimes use a auxiliary engine with it that weighed about 15kg. This combined was the maximum I think for the transom . 2 strokes are very light in comparison but also very thirsty,noisy and smelly . Many thanks for the kind words. Good luck 👍
